Men in the West are dressed in full; women are dressed half , quarter or less

It has nothing to do with science.
It's a cultural issue.

But men also dress with little. Have you been to a beach in the west? There are men in only tiny underwear.

I have always thought it odd that even in the workplace, I'll see men in full suits, but women will be have short skirts, bare arms
& shoulders, & plunging necklines. I attribute it to the wantonness of modern women & modern heating & cooling systems.
(I support wantonness in women & their right to bare arms, BTW.)

In Australia most professional places do not allow women to dress to show cleavage or have mini skirts or sleeveless. That is considered really unprofessional and risky for sexual harassment reasons.

And then I've worked in other industries like hospitality where guys wear shorts and that's fine.

One thing that seems to play a part in why men are more likely to wear long pants is because men are far sexier in long pants. A guy with shorts in less appealing to women. Men look more powerful and handsome in suits than in casual wear.

i found women more attractive if wearing long pants than showing flesh which is disgusting to me.

Hmmmm.....my wearing Hawaiian shirts & shorts might explain my failing at a meteoric rise to power.
Woo hoo!

I was talking about why men wear long pants. In the West that is seen as more sexy.
And because people in the West think women are more sexy showing her body, that is why women are more likely to do so.

Each dresses to look better according to cultural perspective.

As a female, I try really hard to wear modest cloths as I think it is more professional. It can be hard to find them though, most fancy dresses have big slits and low cut fronts, so you have to tailor them to get them fixed.

I think we should all start pushing for women to dress modestly, to teach women that you don't show confidence by wearing slutty cloths, that we are more than our bodies, and that you will receive more respect by dressing respectfully.

One thing to remember, The West is not all inclusive. You are in Australia and the men wear Speedos, that is frowned upon here in the US. Here is is more of a Bermuda style, (baggy shorts), for swim wear. When we see a man in a Speedo here in the states we assume he's a French tourist.

It's the same in Aus. Guys wear board shorts but some of the older generation still wear speedos.
Aus fashion copies American fashion.

self-control is a virtue ;).

For those who want to celebrate sexuality, I think a loyal monogamous relationship can reach heights which are unattainable by one night stands, that those who seek sexual relationships with all who lay eyes on them are missing a vision of the higher forms that relationships can take.

I also see our body as being the temple of our spirit. Our body is the only thing we have our whole life, so we should treat it with care - not just modesty issues, but with exercise, with health food, with uplifting music, books, and media (why play in the mud, when you could be enjoying a pristine beach?)

I also think it is kind to those who are older, or overweight, or disfigured to not "flaunt it if you've got it" as it can make those who don't have it feel bad about themselves.
