Metallica: New Album Teaser

I'm interested.

I'll admit that I don't own anything since the black album but am always interested in what they are doing. I still recall the concert in '91 and will have to say...they know how to put on a great show.

After I bought my new guitar I pulled all my old Metallica sheet music out and have been practicing some songs I haven't played in years.

edit: and thanks for the post. I had not seen this clip.

They are hardly the best band going, but that being said, they are also far from the worst. I just find them to be not terribly original or particularly gifted musicians... and that "singing" ... ughhhh. Well... at least it ain't rap or hippety-hop.

OMG James learnt how to tune his guitar again. Cant wait for a tour, i missed em last time, i was in New Zealand :(
I was originally a St. Anger fan as i was initiated to it, but when i hear the ealier albums i have to agree that they failed me there.

Metallica has really lost me. The first three albums will always be the best in my mind. And Justice For All was alright too. The black album was pretty great, but it just wasn't the same. I just wish they'd go back to their roots some so I can have a reason to get a new Metallica album.

I'm not excited at all about anything new Metallica will release. I'll listen to it, of course, but I don't expect great things.

On a better note, "Ride the Lightning" is still the best thrash metal song of the 80s.

From what I've been hearing, it sounds like they've gone back to thrash metal. Double picking and solos abound. This album only has like 8 or 9 songs too.

I'm excited. This one doesn't sound like complete blashemy like St. Unmentionable. I have heard someone claim it's there best album ever. While I think that is total heresy to think anything they produce now can top the greatness of Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning, it doesn't sound too bad.

And to gnomon, you really aren't missing much after Black Album. Load and Reload sucked, they butchered thier own songs in the live album S&M (with some rather corny backup orchestra music at times, and just too many timing and lyric errors for it too be enjoyable), and St. Anger is quite possibly the worst metal album ever made.

Right behind Dispoasable Heroes. ;)

Ride the lightning goes hand in hand without for whom the bell tolls (yeh sorry im a bassist and i love that riff). Fade to black is a nice song for easy listening, but disposable heroes is nice and thrashy, im actually learning it atm, it feels so good playing metallica on an explorer :)

It sounds to me like they reached back before Black in the teaser. Of course, I was pretty much introduced to Metallica by the Black album - everything else was my dad's on 8 tracks or records.

I've been told back to Justice for all :)

Sadly, i regret to admit i became to know metallica during the ime of St. Anger, the album that caused every metallica fan to become angry.

I have now evolved, thankfully

You guys might find Comics - Explosm.net very amusing, read the disclaimer as well, i laughed so much it hurt lol
