Michael Moore Wants To Meddle in Mid-Term Elections

Stanyon

WWMRD?
A new Michael Moore film 11/9 is set to hit theaters right before mid-terms, considering that U.S. democracy is supposedly being undermined by a few funny pictures (memes) allegedly made by Russians does it not concern you that homegrown propagandists can create multi-million dollar propaganda films and serve them to the mainstream?
I have not seen the film so all I can rely on is others reports, supposedly Moore will attempt to link neo- nazis, racism, and school shootings to the Trump presidency and claim that Trump will declare himself "President for Life". I admit this all sounds pretty far fetched even for Michael Moore but considering the dementia the left seems to be currently suffering from it wouldn't surprise me.

Moore is just a sell out at this point, has no view of his own, and is simply parroting other people's views

Good to see the naysayers coming on here and attacking Moore. I didn't fancy the film but with people calling Moore and his films, I'm starting to get interested.

I think many people have noted the role of media and public dialogue in political campaigns and the influencing of public opinion.

The First Amendment allows for this and doesn't make any distinctions between whether it's a homegrown source or a foreign source.

It's an open marketplace of ideas, and if the people like an idea, they'll go with it. If they don't like an idea, they'll reject it.

I will admit that there are a number of things about U.S. democracy which have bothered me for a long time, particularly in how public opinion is manipulated and the effect it has on their voting choices. Whenever I've expressed such misgivings in the past, I would generally get the same response from both sides of the divide, that it's a free election, that the voters made their choice - right or wrong. This is a democracy with free speech and freedom of the press. What else can anyone do, short of abrogating the First Amendment?

I look forward to the day when Michael Moore's excesses will deserve any attention for their political significance.
