Well, yes, you hire the teachers and other education experts to give the best education to your kids they can with their budget and their expertise. And then you mistrust their expertise and try to micromanage them.Excuse you, but the American citizen is the government. I guess you're fine with a distant dictatorship but that's not how America works. We pay the taxes that run these schools and pay the teachers. We have a right to know what they're teaching and push back when they're teaching minors inappropriate things on our dime, especially when it's nothing more than thinly veiled political activism. Children do not belong to the government. They belong to their families.
At least that is what I see is happening here.
Of course there has to be oversight and someone has to make a curriculum and there are only so many hours in a school week so one has to decide what to include and what not - based on demand and expertise.
I see the political activism but I see it with those who are questioning the expertly crafted curriculum.
