'August 22 to be observed as Apostasy Day: International coalition of ex-Muslim groups'

'In a unique move, an international
coalition of ex-Muslim organisations has decided to observe August 22, 2020 as the Apostasy Day. To be observed for “the abandonment or renunciation of religion”, the coalition, calling upon people to join the call, said, the decision to observe the Apostasy Day has been taken because of apostasy is “punishable by death in Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, UAE, and Yemen.”
Pointing out that it is “a criminal offence in many more Muslim-majority countries”, the coalition said, “In Pakistan, a disbelief in God is punishable with the death penalty under a blasphemy law”, adding, “In Saudi Arabia, atheism is equated with terrorism.”
In a statement ahead of the worldwide call, the coalition claimed, “In some countries without the death penalty, Islamists kill those deemed apostates, including in Bangladesh and Muslim-minority India”, adding, “In many countries, such as in Europe and North America, apostates can face threats, shunning and honour-based violence, including from their families.”'

If you are a Jehovah's Witness or convert to Christianity in all those nations you can be imprisoned or murdered as well. Interesting information.

Its a shame that JWs practice shunning of apostates

The two aren't even closely related.

When Satan apostatized he was shunned from the celestial family, along with all the other angels that fell with him.

Many people who don't even have Godly standards will practice shunning. For example a child molester may be shunned by society, or people that know his practices. People who are criminals are shunned by society to a certain extant, sometimes being locked away from society.

The Islamic shunning is not mandated by God, there is no law in the Bible stating such.

I was shunned, although never an apostate, I was disfellowshipped from the congregation for a time for over drinking. Being a drunkard. I don't feel ashamed that I was shunned. I felt ashamed of my conduct. And am glad that God's congregation is kept clean from immoral people and those who do not meet his requirements. Even if that is me.

Also I never felt a lack of love from those that shunned me while I was helped to stop drinking. It was still the Jehovah's Witnesses who showed up to help me when I needed it. And provided money and food to me when I needed it. And gave me the encourageme4nt and love I needed to stop drinking. :D

Shame on you for comparing apostates to criminals and child molesters

Apostasy is not immoral, it is just people being honest about the fact that they no longer believe in your religion.

Honesty is a moral quality

True. But apostasy from the truth is rarely done without some sort of immorality in the heart that is involved, and usually practiced.

Even God inspired in the Bible to warn us about the mental dispositions of apostates (this is from the true form of worship to Jehovah God, not in any false religion mind you):

Concerning these apostates we are told:

However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among you. These will quietly bring in destructive sects, and they will even disown the owner who bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves. 2 Furthermore, many will follow their brazen conduct, and because of them the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively. 3 Also, they will greedily exploit you with counterfeit words. But their judgment, decided long ago, is not moving slowly, and their destruction is not sleeping
. - 2 Peter 2:1-3.

So one thing apostates are is not unified with God's holy spirit or with the truth. They cause divisions and sects. They even disown the master, as did Judas. The master Jesus who bought them with his life, these people turn on him like Judas. They are not good people. This happened when Christianity began. The same sort of people have been trying to corrupt and divide God's organization today, but today it is incorruptible. Jesus is its leader and head. He is aware of every single person in his visible organization, and is aware of everyone's heart. These apostates are brazen in their conduct and greedily exploit God's servants. These are not nice people. They are evil.

The very next verse compares these wicked people who cause divisions and sects and act with brazen and greedy conduct to exploit God's sheep compares them to the wicked angels:

Certainly God did not refrain from punishing the angels who sinned, but threw them into Tarʹta·rus, putting them in chains of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment.-2 Peter 2:4.

Continuing:

Daring and self-willed, they are not afraid to speak abusively of glorious ones, 11 whereas angels, although they are greater in strength and power, do not bring against them an accusation in abusive terms, out of respect for Jehovah. 12 But these men, like unreasoning animals that act on instinct and are born to be caught and destroyed, speak abusively about things of which they are ignorant. They will suffer destruction brought on by their own destructive course, 13 suffering harm as their reward for their own harmful course.-2 Peter 2:10-13.

They speak abusively of God's appointed ones. Even though the angels out of fear and respect for Jehovah would never consider to do such a thing. They are like unreasoning animals. Notice now their true heart and intentions:

They consider it pleasurable to indulge in luxurious living, even in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes who revel in their deceptive teachings while feasting together with you. 14 Their eyes are full of adultery and are unable to desist from sin, and they entice unstable ones. They have a heart trained in greed. They are accursed children. 15 Abandoning the straight path, they have been led astray. They have followed the path of Baʹlaam the son of Beʹor, who loved the reward of wrongdoing, 16 but was reproved for his own violation of what was right. A voiceless beast of burden speaking with a human voice hindered the prophet’s mad course.-2 Peter 2:13-16.

Jehovah's word exposes apostates for who they are. They are spots and blemishes who revel in their deceptive teachings, with eyes full of adultery, unable to desist from sin. They have hearts trained in greed. And try and curse Jehovah's people. But just as Jehovah did not allow Balaam to put a curse on Israel, these very ones end up cursing themselves.

I will worry about what is written in Bible after you prove existence of God and your contention that Bible is inspired by any God. And what makes the religion that you follow as the true religion.
Three unproven things in one sentence.

There are other reasons a JW is shunned. But those are some of them. The majority is because of immorality.

I shun JWs because they have a tendency to knock on the door just as we have sat down for a family meal

If they would stop disturbing close family gatherings so they can proselytize i think they would be more excepted

Is (almost?) always for immoral reasons such as not wanting to follow the laws of a religion.

Why is that immoral?
When religions kill in the name of god i dont particularly call that moral
When religions say that their way is the only way and those that don't agree must die, I don't call that moral.
When religions teach that women are second class citizens, nothing more than possessions , i dont call that moral
When children are indoctrinated into the religion of their parents long before they have the information to freely choose for themselves, i font call that moral.

I would think that most people who leave a religion do so because their moral standards are an improvement on religious morality
