Hey all,
I know, I have been missing in action from the UU Section here at RF... and unfortunately I dont think that is going to change much in the near future....
I am spending my summer, as a part of my UU ministerial formation, as a hospital chaplain at the University of Tennessee Medical Center... and it is an amazing experience. This is the equilivilant of a doctor's "Clinicals" but for those of us in training for the ministry.
I'm not going to share any of the sometimes beautiful, sometimes tragic stories that I have been priveledged to be a part of, but suffice it to say that I understand why it is so important that such be part of becoming a minister of our liberal religious faith. For it is faith that sustains us in this kind of work, and the work brings you to an understanding of just exactly what it is that you believe and hold faith in.
But, now I was thinking of my fellow Religious Forums UU's, and that I will be back sometime after this experience as a hospital chaplain.
Yours in Faith,
David
