The last time he demonstrated any decency was on January 6th. Perhaps if he realizes that his time has ended he can have a short return of that before he steps down.At one time he could have competed well for title of worst Republican. But the field has run hard to the dark side so that even he can point to a couple of instances of being more reasonable than the rest. Low bar of course.
In my opinion it's likely the culture we have of not showing weakness and looking down on disabilities. No one reacted for the same reason FDR stood for a photo op. Hillary barely had anything happen to her and people thought she was weak. When I saw the first one, my first thought was that he was having a stroke. Or maybe a seizure. My second thought was, why aren't these idiots around him getting him some medical attention? Are they blind?
I honestly felt very bad for him that nobody seemed the slightest bit concerned that he was obviously in some sort of distress.
Hopefully it is just part of his recovery. And I am far from an expert here but such an event would seem to require more than a mere consultation. I do wish the best for McConnell in regards to this. It could be signs of a serious problem. At any rate, better safe than sorry. For him they could easily afford to do a series of diagnostic tests. The capital Dr said Mitch is medically clear to continue working.

The Capitol's attending physician said he "conferred" with the Republican leader's neurology team and that "occasional lightheadedness is not uncommon in concussion recovery."www-nbcnews-com.cdn.ampproject.org
Several should already have retired. Senator Dianne Feinstein, democrat, California is 90 years old.Sad. He should retire.
Age isn't inherently indicative of ability.Several should already have retired. Senator Dianne Feinstein, democrat, California is 90 years old.
Perhaps a different thread, but what decency? He played along with it and stood aside and did nothing while Trump was insisting he was the real winner. The last time he demonstrated any decency was on January 6th. She apparently has dementia.Several should already have retired. Senator Dianne Feinstein, democrat, California is 90 years old.
Early on he called January 6 an insurrection, and even criticized the RNC because it had censured two Republican members for taking part in the January 6 investigation. Sadly this did not last:Perhaps a different thread, but what decency? He played along with it and stood aside and did nothing while Trump was insisting he was the real winner.
Yes. I remember now. I was criticizing him for acting too late.Early on he called January 6 an insurrection, and even criticized the RNC because it had censured two Republican members for taking part in the January 6 investigation. Sadly this did not last:

I do not disagree with that at all. It was not until the day of the attempted insurrection that he saw the folly of his ways, and that only lasted for a limited time.Yes. I remember now. I was criticizing him for acting too late.
And I don't know how I forgot him showing up with a bucket of water after the fire was put out.I do not disagree with that at all. It was not until the day of the attempted insurrection that he saw the folly of his ways, and that only lasted for a limited time.
That strikes me as uninformed and unfair. They have likely participated in numerous medical discussions and are doing their best to care for him with both gentleness and respect.Unfortunately his handlers seem more concerned about his reputation than his health.
Possibly. There was not much that they could do at the time. All that they could do was hope that he snapped out of it. When I saw it happen to my mother she would be almost back to normal in a few minutes. And she would have denied anything happening if you tried to tell her. Luckily I was her chauffeur at that point. I think that she had one very minor fender bender, if even that, but there was a bit of unexplained damage to her car. She gave up her license to drive voluntarily. That was a relief to the family. That strikes me as uninformed and unfair. She fell at home and was hospitalized just a few weeks ago.Age isn't inherently indicative of ability.
Life.. Its the longest thing any of us will ever do.Not on any strict timeline but no one gets out of here intact and sharp.
I would like some sort of term limits. But Congress is highly unlikely to pass any. And there is no such thing as a nation wide initiative It is a bit of a Catch-22 situation. The only Congress that does not need term limits is one that would pass such a bill.Someone today said "that's why we need term limits"
My reply was term limits would not stop someone in their 80's from running and winning.
He then said then we need age limits.
Thoughts?
Edit.. To be fair their are minimal age limits so why not maximal age limits
