John13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Recently, there have been a number of threads started about this apostasy or that apostasy. In my mind they have all been presumptuously condemning of all those who do not agree with their take on minute scriptural issues. In fact the dialogue is almost ALL one sided and they appear more like lectures rather than a mutual exchange of ideas.
For the most part, I find these harangues void of any affection or compassion, much less any heartfelt love. Instead, they are full of accusations, assertions, venom and condescension. What gives here? Where's the LOVE??? Why are they trying to replace love and compassion with such an unhealthy focus on LAWS and DOCTRINE?
Matthew 9:11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and `sinners'?" 12 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: `I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
