a short question: Is there an equivalent of Mother's Day in Hinduism? Which days or traditions do you celebrate to honor your mother?

To be honest, the Hindus I know often do practice Mother's Day as it's seen as a secular holiday.

There is a Lakshmi puja on Mother's Day every year at the temple. We're planning on going tomorrow.

I went and saw Ma today as my earthly mother is not in the same state or even within reasonable driving distance. Many people went to see Ma today. It was beautiful.

We do not have a day but a nine-day celebration (Nav Ratras), twice a year, one in April, the other in October (depending upon the Hindu calendars). They are observed all over India with gusto (and for many with various kinds of fasts - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will subsist just on lime water, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will wash the feet of pre-pubecent girls and honor them). The Bengalis, Gujaratis and Nepali just go berserk, it is their biggest festival. Check Google Images for how we celebrate it. Of course, no non-vegetarian fare or even onion and garlic for eight days. For many non-vegetarian restaurant and meat shops, it is the yearly vacation.
