Mr. Trump Calls Fallen Servicemen "Suckers" and "Losers"

Jeffery Goldberg, the editor in chief of The Atlantic magazine recently published an extremely controversial article citing four anonymous sources close to Mr. Trump who report overhearing him disparage American service personnel, calling them "suckers" and "losers", expressing confusion why anyone would risk their lives fighting for America, and so forth.

Mr. Goldberg's article was initially met with substantial disbelief and with vehement denial of its charges by Mr. Trump. But since it's publication, it has been collaborated by reporters from the Washington Post, the Associated Press, and -- incredible as it might sound -- even Fox News. The reporters cite additional sources confirming or supporting the four sources cited in Mr. Goldberg's article.

Thoughts?

Here's the Atlantic article...

Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’

And here are some of the stories about it...

There have also been validations from a number of persons who have witnessed other similar incidents involving Trump, even though they cannot confirm the specific instances in the Atlantic article.

If Trump hates veterans so much, then why did he make sweeping changes to the VA, that over 90% of veteran's approve of?

...Seems like Trump's actual policy decisions stand in contradiction to these statements by the Atlantic.

Additionally, the president signed bills that fixed long-standing issues with the GI Bill in a fiscally responsible manner and addressed the VA disability claims backlog.

Is anyone really surprised? This guy is and has long been the poster-boy for selfishness, greed, and 'winning' by any means available. He has no sense of decency, morality, honor, or concern for anyone but himself. So of course he would view the whole idea of sacrifice for a higher ideal as weak-headed and foolish. He has no higher ideal but his own ego and comfort, so he thinks anyone who does is a fool.

Of course we see posts like this riddled with rhetoric, and not fact, just like the article from the Atlantic.

...Like for like.

I'd mostly just be repeating what I put here: Deadly In Portland

But, to paraphrase, "This is NOT a story: "A friend of a senior advisor to the President claimed that Trump made this disparaging remark about the troops, and is truly stunned." These are just creative writing, and the only thing that is a fact here is that Trump's last name is, in fact, Trump and that senior advisors exist. There is no who (no idea who the source is), what (it's third party testimony, even the source isn't in a position to validate the nature of the comment), how (it's gossip, the source couldn't directly know), when (the 'source' wasn't present), or where. (the source had not attended the event and has no idea if their friend, the alleged first party, was lying, nor could they.)"

It doesn't matter how many people are talking about it, it's a fictional work.

Its been confirmed by other sources. Amd why deny it? It's beem known for years that Trump thought poorly of McCain and did mock and ridicule his military service, including being captured. We know he's called at least one military family who just lost a loved one while serving "they know what they signed up for" and showing no empathy or real unserstanding of whats going on during that conversation.

But you don't actually "know" that, because there is no recording of the conversation. I find it a little disturbing that so many people assume disputed gossip as fact, without any concrete evidence at all. People should realize, that as a common practice, this will often lead to unreliable results.

And these are? Also conveniently anonymous?
There's been some already posted here. His record against McCain goes as far as saying he wasnt a hero and is only considered one because he was captured ("I like guys who weren't captured), targetting him with Birther nonsense, amd just last year before the State of the Union speech he took a moment during a meeting before rhe speech to blurt out that McCain wrote a book and erroneously claim it bombed. Amd there was his ridiculing a Gold Star family (I'm still surprised he wasn't crucified over that).

If it was only a few people claiming it you'd have a point. But many have made these claims and it fits with his behaviors that we have recordings of. (I can't wait for a Dem president so I can throw all these lame and ridiculous excuses back at Trumpeters)

It's the dead he despises, apparently, for getting killed, which he seems to think is dumb of them. After all, if they'd had the wit to claim they had bone spurs, they wouldn't be dead.
