Congratulations!
I waited 10 years before marrying Mrs LnM. So people get very different answers if they ask how long we've been together (22 years), or how long we've been married...!!

If you've been living together that long and haven't killed each other or went broke already you're probably O.K. for getting married.
I only dated my wife technically for about 3-4 months, was engaged up to the first year and got married. Still married happily 21 years later. I knew she was the one about two weeks in, but I tried to tuck that ****.
Marriage gives a lot of certainty to the relationship, so while the modern folks seem to abhor it I think it can be terribly good for the right people. Neither of us believe that divorce is acceptable though, and we're the type that mean what we say... forever means exactly that... If anyone involved can't keep to that it's better not to do it.
