Muslims: A Quiz - How well do you know your History?

Peace

Quran & Sunnah
You are close masha' Allah, but you need to remember the name.
Other hints:
  • Before embracing Islam he was wealthy and he was known by his beautiful dresses and by wearing the best of perfumes. He was a handsome young man.
  • He was as one of the martyrs of the battle of Uhud, and he was holding the banner on that day.
  • They couldn't find a cloth to cover him after his death. when they cover his face his feet were left bare and vice versa.
May Allah be pleased with him and with all of our beloved Prophet's companions.

'He was as one of the martyrs of the battle of Uhud'

maybe that's a typo, did he die a martyr at Uhud or did he die latter?

if he didn't die at Uhud, the only person i can think of based on those clues is Uthman bin Affan radiallhu anhu. 2 men who i know where very wealthy were Abu Bakr As Siddiq and Uthman radiallhu anhum.

if the answer isn't Uthman rdiallahu anhu then i'm not going to try anymore, i can't think of the name even though i know the historical accounts.

Yes, it was a typo, I meant he was one of the martyrs of Uhud.
The first ambassador of Islam is Mus`ab Ibn 'Umair radiya Lahu `anh.

Surah Ali Imran: Today we have perfected your religion for you, we have completed our favour upon you and have made Islam your religion.

i think the verse continues a bit more but that is all i know it.
i don't remember the verse number, it was revealed on the day of Arafah at the Prophets salallahu alayhi wa salam last hajj. a Jew once said to Abu Bakr radiallahu anhu, if this verse had been revealed to us we would celebrate that day, he replied saying that it was revealed on the day of Arafah, meaning that we do celebrate that day.

I am sorry to say that it is not. Years ago I used to believe the same but I learnt later that the last revealed verse was revealed just 9 days and some say a month before the death of the Prophet peace be upon him. The last revealed verse is in Surat al Baqarah. Could you guess which one?

i can't think of what verse could be the last revealed other than the one i mentioned before, which is what i always believed to be the last one.

if i have to take a guess i'd say 'there is no compulsion in religion.............", it just came into my head when i said to take a guess.

maybe the other muslims might know the verse.

Subhan Allah, it is the last revealed verse.

From the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir;

And have Taqwa for the Day when you shall be brought back to Allah. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. [2:281]

It was reported that; this was the last Ayah revealed from the Glorious Qur'an.
An-Nasa'i recorded that Ibn Abbas said, "The last Ayah to be revealed from the Qur'an was,

And have Taqwa for the Day when you shall be brought back to Allah. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.''

This is the same narration reported by Ad-Dahhak and Al-Awfi from Ibn Abbas.

thank you very much for adding to my knowledge sister. may Allah be pleased with you.

The next question: How many children that our beloved Prophet peace be upon him had? and what are their names?

Gharib

I want Khilafah back
i'll just be honest, i don't know the answer very well. i'm inclined to say he had 4 daughters and 3 sons. i only know the name of Fatimah and Ibrahim.

i started reading the Seerah of the Prophet some days ago, but i started from the Madinah period, if only i had started from the beginning.

You aswered half of the question, that is the number of daughters and sons; it's correct. And you mentioned two names which are also correct, but let's see if someone else could come up with all the names.

Godobeyer

the word "Islam" means "submission" to God
