My computer guy prefers Mac, even though he's Linux capable...it ain't perfect either. But the proof is in the pudding - users are willing to pay
extra for Apple products, when they could easily switch to Microjunk. I'm an engineer who has written software - I see ways in which Gates
purposely limits functionality. Example: I use work arounds to trick Windows into allowing true multi-tasking multi-user environments
supporting many serial terminals with no memory issues or crashing. Microsoft is just flat out poor at engineering.
I'm not a programmer, but I know enough about code to know that Microsoft's code is a nightmare. They don't have any sense at all of elegance or efficiency. I'm not saying that code should never be complicated, but I am saying it shouldn't be, well, garbage. Also, I've rarely noticed Microsoft innovating in any truly original ways. Usually, they just take other people's innovations -- usually Apple's -- and then try to pass their own version as some bold new step forward. Or they brag about how well they've cobbled together a fix for their own crappy products.
Windows Nuevo!
Not as bad as Windows Infinity!
You'll get used to it eventually!
So I can see why people love Apple in comparison. But for me to pay for Apple prices, I'd need
dramatically better functionality than I can get in Linux, and I don't mean iPhone apps.
