Leaving all other wordly matters - Why do you want to debate on God ?

I don't know that I do. I pursue intellectual honesty and religious validity whenever the opportunity presents itself to me.

That it often involves discussion of atheism vs theism is just a circunstance beyond my means to control.

I don't know that people are necessarily debating on God. I see it more as a debate about human societal, cultural, and philosophical views. It's a discussion by humans, about humans, and for humans. It's just that some humans believe in God, so therefore God also can become a topic of discussion and debate. It's more a debate about human ideas and perceptions, not really about God, in my opinion.

Truthful information you gave, my friend. :)

But, is this the reply to OP, my friend ? :)

I haven't debated any gods, at least while awake.

What do you mean by "leaving all other worldly matters?"

ETA: Oops. I probably shouldn't have posted here given I'm not a theist or atheist. Sorry. :(

OP asking YOU, not people, my friend :)

Oh.

Well, I guess the answer is that I sometimes find it to be somewhat fascinating and more mentally stimulating than other hobbies. I also enjoy the interaction that comes with debates and discussions, as opposed to just passively reading or vegging out in front of the boob tube.

How will you justify that by doing this you aren't indulging in any wordly matter ? :)

Well, if it's an idea conceived in human minds, then it's a human (worldly) matter. I don't see any need for a justification.

Once again, its an another truthful information. But, as far as you don't see any need for a justification is not a justification :)

Your question contradicts itself. "Worldly matters" are the reason people debate about God (or gods).

Believers commonly present their beliefs about their gods as reasons for particular behaviour in life (their own and sometimes that of others). Others (be they atheist or believers of differing faiths) might question the existence or nature of those gods and therefore the reasoning for behaviour.

People of the same faith will sometimes debate with each other on specific details about their common god(s) but I think even that ultimately comes from the ideas of how the world really is and how people should behave as a result.

Exactly this is what the message I want to pass through this thread.

That there's a big difference between "Wordly-matters" and "Godly" isn't ? my friend :)
