My hike in Mount Rainier National Park

Last weekend I went for a hike in Mount Rainier National Park. Below are some photos I took of Mount Rainer, Mowich Lake, and Eunice Lake as I was walking along the trail to the lookout tower. I had many more photos so I tried to select the best ones, in the order they were taken.

Very nice. My brother and his wife are avid hikers out of Seattle, and have done trips through that park and others about once a month for 20 years. He also likes to climb, so he’s been to the summit more than half a dozen times so far. They Facebook shots like yours regularly. I’m very jealous. :pensive: I’m also surprise how little snow is left on Rainier’s peak here at the end of the summer. Did any other hikers mention that?

PS —. I especially like your 3rd photo, with that old tree wrapping around the other trees like a snake.

Hah!! Why not any pictures from the top:mad::mad:

Okay, I know why. Very beautiful pictures. And for those not in the know, the mountain can be climbed, but it is not recommended for us amateurs.

So beautiful. I was born on the west coast but grew up on the east coast. I wish I could spend more time over that way.

Yes, some of the hikers who are more familiar with Mount Rainer did mention how little snow there is left on the peak, which is not the norm for this time of year.

I’ve been there, it truly is beautiful!
I’m jealous.
I recently was up visiting my sister near Port Angeles at the base of the mountains at Olympic Mountains National Park.
Unfortunately I didn’t get an opportunity for any hikes. We did however get a chance to drive up to Hurricane Ridge.

I am the one who is always jealous, so it is good to hear other people say they are jealous. :D
It was a rare opportunity for me to go on that hike to Mount Rainier since one of the Baha'is organized it for the group and he drove up to the trailhead. I could never drive to where he drove.

It sure is a small world. :) The mountains and hot springs in Olympic National Park are my old stomping ground since my brother and mother lived in Port Angeles from the late 1980s till the early 2000s. My brother moved away after his wife passed on in 2004, and then my mother passed on in 2007 so I have never been back there since. My mother lived in a condo right near the entrance to Hurricane Ridge.

I liked that tree appeared wrapped around other trees. But I love mountains. Mt. Ranier is quite the mountain. I think I'll go back and copy some to my computer.

I thought that tree was so unusual so I had to take a photo of it.
My iPhone is really coming in handy for taking pictures. It takes good pictures.
Look at that. My post is #19. :)
