My Paranormal Investigation - The Crescent Hotel & Spa

Sgt. Pepper

All you need is love.
I'm at The Crescent Hotel & Spa in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I'm here to conduct another paranormal investigation. Let's see what happens.

I wrote this OP in a mad rush shortly before I started my paranormal investigation. I'm honestly surprised that it makes any sense because I typed it so fast and I didn't proofread it. It's actually coherent despite the fact that I was so excited at the time.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for the replies while I was offline. I really appreciate the interest and the support.

I decided to post this thread a couple of minutes after I got out of my car in the hotel parking lot. I was standing not far from my car when the idea to share the results of my investigation on RF came to my mind. So, I quickly typed the OP on my Samsung and posted it in haste before I went into the hotel. I've never typed so fast in my life, and I'm shocked that the sentences in my OP are actually coherent. My hands were shaking as I typed my OP, and I didn't even read what I wrote before I posted the thread. In fact, I was trembling with anticipation before I even got out of my car, and my heart started pounding the moment I saw The Crescent come into view as I turned the corner a block away. I could barely contain my enthusiasm about being back at the hotel.

I hit the road running the very second after I hastily pressed 'Create Thread,' and I kept up this momentum for 3 /12 hours. I walked up the front stairs in full paranormal investigator mode. I was in my element, and I came prepared for the task ahead with my SLS camera, an EVP recorder and Spirit Box in hand. I chose these particular pieces of equipment because I didn't want to carry a lot of weight around with me while investigating. I started my investigation before I walked into the hotel. I stood outside and snapped several pictures of the front of the hotel. After I had finished, I went inside and immediately began to investigate the lobby.

The staff wasn't even phased when they saw me walk in with an SLS camera and EVP recorder in hand. It was just business as usual because they work in a haunted hotel. I investigated the lobby, worked my way down to the lower level to investigate, and then I went walked up the stairs to the first floor. I did as much investigating as I was able to, since I had limited access. I wasn't an overnight guest, so I couldn't go into a room to investigate. I was allowed to go into one of the vacated rooms before housekeeping got to it the last time I was at the hotel, but I didn't manage getting access to a vacated room this time. I investigated all four floors as much as I was allowed, including the restaurant and its balcony on the fourth floor. I walked down the hallway of each floor and asked questions with the Spirit Box and the EVP recorder. I also snapped multiple pictures of the hallway and the mirrors. After I had finished investigating as much of the inside as I had access to, I went outside and began the same process of investigating.

A couple of the staff interrupted me to find out if I had found anything, but other than that, the staff pretty much left me alone. Some guests were curious to know what it was like to conduct a paranormal investigation. They asked me questions about my investigation, and they asked about my equipment. I answered their questions, and I asked if anyone would like to participate. There were a few who did, and there were a few who seemed afraid. A hotel staff member remembered me from the last time I was at the hotel, and we talked for a while. We also conducted an EVP session at his service desk in the middle of the lobby.

So, I recorded multiple EVPs inside and outside the hotel. There were three EVPs that really bothered me, and they were 'poisoned,' 'in pain,' and 'decapitated.' I've never heard EVPs like that before. In addition to the EVPs, I captured a couple of SLS images of a spirit on the fourth floor. I tried to capture other SLS images, but the other spirits didn't seem interested in seen on camera. I also captured some spirits in digital pictures as well. My reflection in the mirror with the face of a disturbing looking spirit being clearly seen standing almost right behind me is one of them. I don't want to share these pictures in a public forum, and I will explain why.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of sharing a couple of my digital photo evidence (not watermarked) in a paranormal group on Facebook, and some jerk stole my pictures and claimed them as his own. I had to prove to the powers that be on Facebook that these pictures were actually my intellectual property and that this so-and-so stole my pictures. Fortunately for me, Facebook took me at my word and my stolen pictures were deleted from this person's profile and deleted in the paranormal group. Long story short, I've learned my lesson about sharing my digital paranormal pictures on a public forum. Therefore, if you would like to see my pictures, please PM me. However, I must insist that whomever I share my pictures with in a PM must agree not to share my pictures with anyone else without my explicit permission. I don't want to have to deal with another situation like that on Religious Forums.

Despite being thoroughly elated about being back at The Crescent today, I was a bit disappointed that I only captured one spirit on my SLS camera. I tried multiple times to capture the spirits who were randomly appearing on my SLS, but none of them were willing to cooperate with me, except for one. And right before I captured this particular spirit on my SLS, my EMF detector started beeping like crazy and the EMF measurement was off the chart. The reading went straight up to the red level, and a couple of seconds later, the spirit spoke in the Spirit Box and said, "James." He didn't say anything else, and the interaction was over after he said his name.

What steps are you taking to record your observations?

My preferred ghost hunting equipment is the Spirit Box (Ghost Box), an EVP recorder, an EMF detector and an SLS camera. If I'm investigating at night, then I'll also use a thermal imaging camera and a night vision camera. I have other ghost hunting equipment that I will sometimes use if I feel it's necessary. I've also used a Paranormal Puck, an Olivus Ghost Box and a digital recorder to record my communication with spirits. A REM pod (motion sensor) is also useful to have during an investigation because it detects disturbances and changes in the area surrounding it. The REM pod effects the electromagnetic field, which is used to create energy for spirits to communicate through. In spite of all the high-tech equipment I have to use during an investigation, there are times when I use simpler ways to communicate with a spirit. I've used a flashlight, and I'll ask a spirit to turn it on and off in order for it to answer my questions. For example, I'll ask, "Are you the only spirit here with me? Flash the light twice for yes and once for no." I'll use a flashlight to determine what level of energy the spirit has and it gives the spirit the chance to manipulate an object.

I also rigorously test paranormal apps on my iPhone and Android phone during a paranormal investigation. I compare the apps to my actual ghost hunting equipment to find out if these apps are authentic and reliable. If I determine that an app is genuine and reliable to use during a paranormal investigation, then I'll write a satisfactory review about it or I'll write a review to explain why the app isn't what it claims to be. I regularly test and review various paranormal apps to help other paranormal investigators.

Do you mean that there are several levels or degrees to being haunted?

Yes. First, there is a residual haunting, which is a paranormal occurrence that repeats itself over and over again. It's quite possible during a residual haunting to hear footsteps and a door opening and closing. A residual haunting happens when energy that was created from the event gets metaphysically recorded onto the area. Secondly, there is the intelligent haunting, which is a spirit that wants to be noticed and wants to communicate with living people. Poltergeist activity often occurs during this kind of haunting.

@Sgt. Pepper Why do you think they speak only a word or two?

It takes a lot of energy for a spirit to use an EVP recorder because it has to manipulate the recorder in order to form words. I've received random words on an EVP recorder, and that's a spirit trying to figure out how to use it. I've also received EVPs that were direct answers to my questions in one or two words, short phrases and full sentences. An EVP like this is called a Class-A EVP, which shows that the spirit is intelligently interacting either directly or speaking through an EVP recorder, a Spirit Box or a digital recorder.

That's interesting. How does the EMF detector work - or can you direct me to something that explains its operating principle?

And how does an SLS camera work?

What do the spirits seek from haunting certain places or communicating with certain people?

Often times, spirits simply want to be heard. I have had the same spirit speak random words over and over again into an EVP recorder, and the spirit said, "this is cool!" There are spirits who have a message they want to convey to a living person. Maybe the person died unexpectedly and they didn't have the chance to make something right in their life or say goodbye to their loved ones. I've encountered spirits who loudly expressed their anger because they died too soon or something bad happened to them that caused their death. I've also encountered spirits who expressed their sadness and regret. I try to comfort the spirits who express these emotions, but there's only so much I can do. I've also encouraged some spirits to crossover and stop being earthbound.

It breaks my heart to hear a child spirit. I was at the local cemetery the other day, walking around and talking to the spirits with my Spirit Box. I asked if there are any child spirits here, and a little girl said hello through the Spirit Box. Being a psychic medium, I didn't feel anything malicious or evil around me, so I know that this child spirit wasn't demonic in nature. It's an accepted theory in the paranormal field that demonic entities can mimic a child's voice or another person's voice, but because I'm a psychic medium, I can sense the presence of a demonic entity or a malevolent human spirit. It's a gift that I regularly use whenever I cross paths with human spirits or other entities. It's certainly a significant advantage in the paranormal field to be what I call a 'ghost radar.'
