My Thoughts on Time Travel

I found myself thinking the other day, what if there was only one point in time that we call the Present? In order to travel to a different point in time one would need to travel to a different point with it's own Present. But if there is only one Present then it would not be possible to travel to a different point in time without having a Present within which to land in. If this is the case then time travel would be impossible.

Seems to me we are in fact "traveling through time" right this very moment.

I'm not sure how anyone would travel through time anyway.
Practically speaking, so far as i know, there is no known method of time travel. There isn't even an inkling of an idea how to time travel. Of course if there were i wouldn't have brought this up at all.

This is an intriguing comment. Are we actually "traveling through time?" Another perspective could be that we are "prisoners of time." We can go where we want in space, but we remain trapped in the ever changing Present. I can't choose a point in time where i would like to travel to.

Depends on how one defines time travel.

Get on a fast jet, head east or west and you can essentially time travel.

Yes.

Also yes.

again, yes.

You can choose whatever point in time where you would like to travel to.
You just can not actually go there.

Seems to me that the events are specific points long the time line.
So we are not traveling with them, we are traveling though them.
Without time you wouldn't travel. With time you travel. We can't travel ahead of time, we can't travel behind time. Hence we travel with time.
