Mysterious species buried their dead and carved symbols 100,000 years before humans

Actually other species pass down knowledge just like we do.
insofar as I understand, much more time and effort is required on the part of humans to perform agricultural tasks than ants. But if you want to believe that somehow ants figured it out for themselves a long time ago and passed on the knowledge, go for it. I believe that ants have a genetic instinct to do what they do, similar to bees becoming a queen. Ingrained, instinctive. Not like man.

This response to the thread: 'Have you never watched a wolf or any other species teach its offspring how to hunt etc?'

Wth does your comment of..

"Your intentional ignorance of science is not a defense for cling to a mythical Creation story based on tribal scriptures over 2000 years old"

How in anyway does that have anything to do with watching a wolf teach its offspring to hunt?

I was just reading about a sultan hundreds of years ago who had like 1,000 children or so. He was the chief of Morocco a long time ago. You think ants have written documentaries about their history to pass down knowledge? And genetic testing to know who's who?

(He was probably responding to me...) :)

Well, you made me wonder about birds and nests. Also beehives. (Who taught them?) I don't know that much about wolves. Oh yes, and queen bees.
Who taught you? Your parents and others humans right. Why don't you think others species can teach their offspring etc.

We learn from others to an extent. But! are you saying that bees learned from other bees how to build a hive?

I did not learn to come out of my mother's womb. But going back to bees for a while, if I may, I'm learning. Bees make hives by producing wax flakes using their wax glands for starters. So puleeze don't tell me that they learned this from other bees. Please. I hope not.

lYes, it is said that somewhere somehow homo sapiens interbred with neanderthals somehow (I think that's what I remember reading). I find the conjectures fascinating. Not that I believe them, but fascinating nonetheless because it is really fantasy based on the possibility and the theory of evolution. I was never a fan of Jurassic Park (didn't see it, but I know many who loved it), or Star Trek, or other sci=fi types but I guess people are drawn to the possibilities.
This is another example of empty claims based on ignorance that amounts to plain old, baseless, science denial.

You are free to deny science to your hearts content, but unless you have posts on the topic of this thread and evidence to support your claims, I would appreciate that you not disrupt and derail this thread by turning it into a bully pulpit for your personal views. If you can't post on point, then move on.

Low sarcasm really dresses up a
demonstration of ignorance and denial.

Good morning! -- May be -- but I didn't dream it up. In reference to these claims and the thread, where are the effects of the dating process the scientists used? Scientists can claim lots of things.
"However, these burials dated to a time when contact with modern humans (Homo sapiens) might have occurred, suggesting that humans' Neanderthal relatives might not have come up with this idea on their own." Might have occurred, might not have -- suggesting, etc.

Who's denying science? Seems like those who think that phrases such as 'maybe, could be, might be, possibly be,' really mean "that's what it is."
