Mysterious species buried their dead and carved symbols 100,000 years before humans

See? This is what I mean -- one scientist claims, "While ants haven't developed writing (though they did invent agriculture long before we existed), they're enormously successful insects. " So it is said ants themselves INVENTED agriculture. Imagine that -- lol -- they invented agriculture before 'we' (humans) existed. I guess the scientist believes ants did not have a need to invent reading and writing. But they are said to have invented agriculture.

Yep. And, if you have watched the video, you'd also know that the unknown ancestor is probably known and documented. We just don't know which one is our ancestor, there are just too many to chose from.
Right -- probably known but not really maybe. Uh huh -- just too many ancestors to chose from. Got it, thanks. :)

You really have to check which scientists you believe. :) For instance, how about this, do you believe this? "Combined fossil evidence with genetic and behavioral clues gleaned from living primates to learn about the now-extinct species whose descendants would become humans and chimps." So the ancestors are considered extinct. lol. (yup) And they know they're extinct because, um, why??? (What genetic and behavioral clues show that humans and chimps evolved from a "now-extinct" species? That, of course, is not explained...:) ) We're expected to believe this? In retrospect, however, I used to believe it all...

You do know that leafcutter ants do cultivate fungi, do you?
Are you claiming that they figured it out and passed that knowledge on to their descendants????? Or taught it to other ants as humans would teach farming to other humans?

We Never Know

@Heyo - why not consider that ants invented agriculture also, as the scientist claims?
If we humans were as efficient as ants we wouldn't have killed off thousands of species to extinction or polluted the planet as bad as we have.
We could learn plenty from other species but we think.we are high and mighty

You might want to check out this article, interesting about leaf cutters and fungi. Leaf-cutter ants: The insects that are farmed by fungi | BBC Science Focus Magazine So now the question remains if you really think and/or believe the fungi and the ants figured it all out. As well as you figuring out how to digest your food through your body from the womb on. Or maybe it was "figured out" long ago, hmm, by some ancestral species??????

I'm not arguing with that, especially since it is said that mankind was given different opportunities from other creatures. And yes, I also firmly believe as the Bible says, that mankind is ruining the earth. God is aware of all these things and it is written He will straighten that out. Ants and fungi did not teach themselves how to cultivate themselves in order to live, as humans evidently needed to learn and teach each other. Ants and the fungi are satisfied and don't need to be further "educated" on this.

So again -- are you saying that ants invented that form of agriculture as the scientist seemed to have said?

No, that is a hyperbolic pattern of speech. Ants didn't "invent" agriculture in the common sense of the word - but then, humans didn't either, we discovered agriculture, or better re-discovered, as ants already did it millions of years prior.
