Mystical Christianity - views?

I'm attracted to the mystical Christianity out there - the Gnostic Gospels and all related to that.

I am not too knowledgeable on it right now and am still learning so am interested in anyone's views on it in general and how you feel it fits into the whole picture of Christianity.

Is there much difference between Christian Theosophy and Gnosticism?

I tend to believe in the events of the Bible happening in the abstract , as on another plane of existence - how would these views fit in?

could you still call yourself a Christian with this belief system?

thanks

I've read some of the Gnostic Gospels.. I think they're good to read alongside the biblical Gospels..

Some of it, is just not true, though. Some of it is just ideas.

If you believe in Christ as the savior, I'd say you are Christian, no matter the side ideas you might have.

when you say 'it is just not true' what are you referring to, the Gospel of Thomas etc.?

do you mean not true historically?

How can we really know what is true and what isn't?

I forget the last one that I read.. but some of them make the Creator out be an arrogant idiot.

Ah, gnostic, not Christian mysticism.

People call themselves Christian with any number of belief systems...

Hi Mr Emu.

"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, the sinner."

Is your tagline from "The Way of the Pilgrim?"
