Nature of war is usually war on resources

Its not always the case, but in human history its often tied to it.

Example is WW2 with the Nazis. Why did they try to invade Russia? Simply speaking. Great Britain and other countries was sanctoning Germany. Meaning less Oil for their war effort.... so what was the alternative?

You could argue, why not middle east or north africa?. Problem is the impractical way of exporting the oil back. So Russia was the one way ticket.

Or in recent year you could argue why did Saddam Hussein invade Kuwait?. Main argument is Iran Iraq war cost alot. And debt was filling up. So when Kuwait didnt wanna delete the debt of that war. Then invading it seemed like the easiest solution, which is where you get Gulfwar from.

But let me know what you think?

Resources are one reason to start a war. But it is never only one reason. And often the reasons given are not the true reasons.

I think my father jokingly told me once that the real reason for the Vietnam War was for American troops to take away the brass Buddha statues.

Oftentimes, resources (or lack thereof) have been cited as reasons for war. Of course, that's a bit vague to say, since humans could just as easily peacefully cooperate and trade with others to acquire the resources they need. War is not an absolute necessity to gain resources.

War is more likely rooted in the human failings of greed and ego, usually starting when one person decides "I am better, and therefore I deserve to have more than others." When one person decides that, it is perfectly natural for others to take a contrary view, and that's when the fighting starts.
