some interesting links i found on the early sowing and growth of Christianity is Asia.
i hadn't heard of the Assyrian Church of the East before, but apparently they did a good deal to bring the name of Jesus to China, Korea, Tibet, and Japan long before Catholic or Protestant missionaries got there.
and in India, St. Thomas did much to plant and establish churches. the descendants of those Christians are still there today, mostly in Kerala.
Christianity in Japan (possibly)
and in China
and in India
and in Tibet
and a Wikipedia article on the Church which gave these countries the Gospel.
i find things like these neat. often, we focus on Catholicism and Protestantism within a European and American framework. but there have been and are still branches of the Christian faith very different from both, and also very old.
