I like the classics. How about Roman Holiday? And does Casablanca fit the bill for a "chick flick"?
Heh - I couldn't stand Moulin Rouge. When my wife rented it, I lasted about 15 minutes before I got up and left.
Heh. I was going to suggest
Roman Holiday as well, and my wife loves Moulin Rouge but I couldn't get past 20 minutes of it.
Eternal Sunshine' is a good reccomendation, but I just can't get past my Jim Carrey loathing to personally suggest it. I have to admit many people whom I agree with in film tastes love the film so I may just be wrong.
I'd suggest any of the
Thin Man movies. Romantic comedy murder mysteries are great.
Bringing Up Baby- One of my top ten favorite comedies.
The Kid Brother- Also on my top ten.
Chungking Express- Not conventionally funny but very quirky and romantic Hong Kong film.
Groundhog Day- Bill Murray.
Under the Roofs of Paris (it's Paris, a romantic comedy and a musical! All the chick flick requirements in one film!)
I have to mention
Amelie' only because my wife loves it, but I prefer
A Very Long Engagement and I love
City of Lost Children so...
