Need Recommendation: Best Chick-flick/Romantic Comedy of All Time

Okay, my sister and I are going out of town for the weekend and will be staying somewhere where we can bring our own DVDs. She wants to watch a chick-flick, a romantic comedy with some gorgeous hunk in it. I can't think of a single one that stands out in my mind as really good. I like chick-flicks okay -- just as long as they're not too predictable. Anybody have any good suggestions? I'm counting on your guys.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I'm not much of a chick flick fan, but I am totally enamored with the romantic musical Moulin Rogue. I personally have not seen a more beautiful and poetic film than this.

Starring Nichole Kidman (Totally Gorgeous), Ewan McGregor (Beyond hunk), and John Leguizamo (You will smile for sure).

One of my fave musical scenes (Elephant Love Medley) with Nichole and Ewan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaqYgWc8-vs

The backdrops and scenery are absolutely breathtaking in the film. Words cant describe it or do it justice. I was spellbound watching it.

See for yourself. :)

I like the classics. How about Roman Holiday? And does Casablanca fit the bill for a "chick flick"?

Heh - I couldn't stand Moulin Rouge. When my wife rented it, I lasted about 15 minutes before I got up and left.

The Notebook was the first movie that came to my mind.

EDIT: Don't know why the "comedy" part didn't register in my head. This wouldn't be the best choice for that genre.

a second for Eternal Sunshine, although I'm not sure it would fall under "romantic-comedy" for most people

Of course, then there's these typical popular ones, although they wouldn't be my choice:

Sleepless in Seattle
When Harry Met Sally
Runaway Bride
Pretty Woman
Jerry Maguire
etc.

meh...
I'm sure my mom would tell you "An Affair to Remember" - and you're at least as old as her ;)

Really - though, you probalby can't go wrong with Cary Grant...

Heh. I was going to suggest Roman Holiday as well, and my wife loves Moulin Rouge but I couldn't get past 20 minutes of it.

Eternal Sunshine' is a good reccomendation, but I just can't get past my Jim Carrey loathing to personally suggest it. I have to admit many people whom I agree with in film tastes love the film so I may just be wrong.

I'd suggest any of the Thin Man movies. Romantic comedy murder mysteries are great.
Bringing Up Baby- One of my top ten favorite comedies.
The Kid Brother- Also on my top ten.
Chungking Express- Not conventionally funny but very quirky and romantic Hong Kong film.
Groundhog Day- Bill Murray.
Under the Roofs of Paris (it's Paris, a romantic comedy and a musical! All the chick flick requirements in one film!)

I have to mention Amelie' only because my wife loves it, but I prefer A Very Long Engagement and I love City of Lost Children so...

Oops, I forgot to take note of "gorgeous hunk." I'll say Charade, or possibly Philadelphia Story, because Cary Grant was a gorgeous, sexy hunk.

Thank you everybody! There are some really great suggestions here. Since Eternal Sunshine had two recommendations, I was just about to rent it when I saw that Jim Carrey is in it. I don't think I could get past my loathing of him either.
