Hello all,

I'm looking for suggestions of movies I should see. My criteria is intelligent stories, good acting, no supernatural, as little violence as possible.

I'm not necessarily looking for new movies.

Please let me know what you consider good and worth watching.

Many thanks

"Notebook". "Judgement at Nuremberg". And if you can stand a little "astral body" action (I generally can't, but this is an exception), by all means "If I Stay".

Boy, did I like "If I Stay".

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE

edit: sorry, just the ultra-violence thing :D

I really like The Labyrinth though, with David Bowie in it.

I saw "if I stay" and I loved I so much I read the sequel.

The Notebook is one the the few movies I liked better than the book.

I've never seen the "judgement at Nuremberg." I'll have to see that one. Thanks for the suggestions

Same here. The sequel drove me to tears repeatedly. Even now recalling it shakes me up.

Never before had I felt that what amounts to absolutely normal, everyday decisions, acceptances and losses could be so darned terrifying.

I should probably begin to read the first book as well.

One of my all time favorites is I Am Sam. Having seen it, having it so move me, I can't even watch the trailer now without crying.
