Neutrality

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
I wonder if it is actually meant that a person should be neutral in every aspects of life?

Follow a narrow path as Buddhism say.

proverbs 4:27

matthew 7:13-14

unconditional love is the narrow gate. neither exclusively to self or to other as self but love all; including one's enemies.

unconditional love is not a respecter of persons; if it were there would be a condition of us vs them, or me vs other.

I would be cautious here. It can be easy to mistake neutrality for repression of emotions. Repressing emotions leads to emotional instability and outbursts not peace.

Not to get too political in a nonpolitics thread but extreme centricism is a big problem in the US, almost as much as its fringe. Extreme centrists want to maintain a status quo as long as they can, and do not want to make any change, even really good change, unless it happens very slowly. It's left the country in huge lurches and incredibly slow to get to where other nations are in terms of civil rights and social safety.

So I think, even though in a lot of cases extremes are bad, sometimes people are neutral about things they shouldn't be. So there's even a balance to be had about when to be neutral and when to take a side.
