The good thing about old shows is that with seasoned box sets they seem fresh again. Welcomed commentaries and archived bonus material on the background of the series makes old shows fresh again. Also Michel do not underestimate the power of rentals.

The Flash The Complete Series

A CBS show that starred John Wesley Ship and Amanda Pays. It had a pretty good run but not enough to spur future seasons. Personally, with DC blowing apart the Batman franchise I blame the time period. The costume looked great though.

The Best Of The Electric Company

For most of us who are old enough to remember, the PBS network would air educational programs like Sesame Street. Right after Sesame Street they used to broadcast a show for “older” children called The Electric Company. What is most noted about this show is that this is where actors Morgan Freeman and Rita Moreno got their start. Shout Factory (check out their website for some great DVD releases) released a 4 disc set entitled The Best Of Electric Company which features some of the best remembered skits from that show. Now if they could just release The Best Of ZOOM life would come full circle.

The Pink Panther Classic Cartoon Collection
The Pink Panther is one hip cat. Since 1964, this pink-inked feline has ambled across the opening credits of each Blake Edwards Pink Panther movie. Sleek and sophisticated (with animation produced by Fritz Freleng and David H. DePatie), the sly pussycat spawned a subsequent Oscar-winning short film, "The Pink Phink," and a series of 6-minute cartoons (from 1964-80). This collection includes 124 cartoons featuring the one-of-a-kind cat.

5 discs with nothing but the 1960’s Pink Panther Cartoons. I am in heaven and heaven is pink. This collection was obviously released to correspond to the new movie The Pink Panther with Steve Martin (which I will not be attending). My only regret is that the DVD did not include any of the bizarre Inspector Clousteau cartoons or any of the Ant And The Aardvark cartoons that used to accompany this pink cat (maybe they will be released later). Each disc is 140 Minutes long and it is the fifth disc that includes the bonus extras and a history of this animated series. Nostalgic Saturday mornings emerge and the Pink Panther is probably the only cartoon that my father laughed out loud to (but denies it to this day). The Pink Panther cartoons were quick, sharp witted, and inspired. Even though the Pink Panther did receive his fair share of beatings the Pink Panther was the definitive nature of cool. Thanks for the memories.
