New lessons for an old man to learn.

All you young business owners, listen to me, because I've learned some things just recently, and although too late you my own self they might be useful for you......or maybe not.

Who will you employ?
You need to research an applicant's background, listen to their past employers and find out as much as possible.....yes?
Well, no, actually, there's not much need for all that.

Your applicant might have a dodgy history of perverting the course of justice in law courts or on statements, but think of this....if they are 'good at looking good', which of those two attributes do you think will attract the most customers? Yes! You're getting it!.......You need customers! You need people who look the part!

How about a history of sexual predation or assault? Look...you need to forget about all that because you're looking for a person who can 'bring in the bacon', or rather the bucks. Business needs bucks! Now keep repeating that as you peruse your applicant...'Can they do the bucks!'

So now you're throwing off all those stupid old tenets that your granny used to bore you with and you're finding the true path.

Next...look for for signs of enlightenment within your applicant..... A religious badge, maybe? Whatever, but I'm telling you straight, if you might notice a bible showing in the window of their folder etc, you can believe that they've found the right path......everything they tell you will be in the 'Apex of Truth'.

Now all that has tired me out, but I'll pop back from time to time to help you get your little business flourishing, and with the right people around you!

Short version, con men make good sales-people, however, be careful of their promises to the client as mistakes there will reflect poorly on your business.

So far the President is still an employee of the country.
Yes. But you have to admit that if (roughly) 100 million voters can think that the President Elect is a suitable employee, surely they would not worry too much about who they work with or next to?

Why would a republican employer worry about job applicants with criminal records or perversions of justice, etc? That would be a bit schizophrenic, wouldn't it?

While understanding the metaphor, at the same time should my business get big enough to hire people I've thought of that and ideally I wanna hire Juggalos to increase the odds I'll at least get along with my employees and reduce voluntary turnover rate.
The election though, ****ing pathetic. More proof that, yes, Americans are widely so stupid that here a 1/4 pound burger is more meat than a 1/3 pound burger.

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
And it doesn't matter if your new employee is a space alien, right?

I had to 'google' juggalo! :)
Everything seems to be in a panic here, UK, and our new government is in a real mess after the US election. Our foreign secretary had previously rubbished Trump in very ripping terms, only now to find himself in a hopeless position. I can't see how he could possibly represent the UK to USA.
Meanwhile, Mr Farage would be a perfect diplomat to the USA but he is the leader of the wrong party for such an appointment.

But the fact that so many millions of voters could choose such a CV as Trump's just throws all the values that my parents tried to hammer in to me straight in to the dustbin.
