More foods found to contain cancer dye

The Food Standards Agency has added 60 products to its list of foods and ready-meals that may contain a cancer-causing dye.
The FSA, which regulates food safety, had already sounded the alert over 359 soups, sauces and ready-meals, including household names sold in Britain's major supermarkets.
The dye, known as Sudan 1, is normally used as a colouring in solvents, oils, waxes, petrol, and shoe and floor polish.
Experts warn it could contribute to an increased risk of cancer although they add there is unlikely to be an immediate risk to health.
It was found to have illegally contaminated a batch of chilli powder which had already been used to make a large consignment of Crosse and Blackwell Worcester Sauce, which in turn was used to spice up many other foods and ready-meals.
Retailers say full refunds are available to any shopper who returns an item on the list to where they bought it.
But consumer experts are concerned that items which may have small elements of the dye could remain on sale for days more while the FSA attempts to identify exactly where the contaminated mix ended up.
The new items can be found by [ CLICKING HERE http://www.food.gov.uk/news/newsarchive/2005/feb/update ].
The original 359 items now withdrawn by stores, which are offering a full refund on any items that shoppers return to them, can be found by [ CLICKING HERE http://www.food.gov.uk/safereating/sudani/sudanlist ].
The 359 items from last week's announcement are also listed below as reports suggest the FSA website is frequently unattainable because of the huge demand to log on. The 60 additional items have been added at the bottom.
We list by the name of the shop where it was sold. For brands such as Heinz, Birds Eye etc, see towards the bottom of this page.
