Reminds me of a local news story from some years ago: in the lead-up to the Persian Gulf War (after "Operation Desert Shield" had started, but not "Operation Desert Storm", IIRC), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police made a visit to a farm in Bloomfield, Ontario. It seems that the fellow who owned the farm had purchased a number of combat helicopters as surplus from the US military (disarmed, but apparently it would have been a simple matter to re-arm them) and was getting set to sell them to Saddam Hussein's armed forces. He had them in some sort of barn and was preparing to ship them when he got caught. The RCMP was not amused.
