I'm a Canadian ex-pat living in the UK. I'm not religious but I have an interest in religion as a cultural phenomenon. I'm fascinated by the impact of different forms of religious thinking on our ethics, behavior, community and so forth.
I like to argue (cough) I mean, debate about a wide variety of mainstream ideologies. If you're posting a thread on how being gay is unnatural, how democracy is the ultimate form of government, how global warming is "controversial", how Hezbollah is a "terrorist organization" while the GOP is not or such like, you can expect a thorough and vigorous response or two from me if I see the thread and have the time.
I define myself as "Taoish" because the Taoist way seems uncannily close to my own way, and because I have dabbled in the arts and would like to continue to do so when it becomes more convenient. (No tai chi teachers in this town).
So, Hello everyone.
