I don't think it can, or should, happen. We should work to break down divides, but ultimtely in the end we'll still need those "above" to guide and lead and those "below" to make it happen. Ideally, I think this would look more like Star Trek, where there clearly is a captain but all are free to speak up and not thought of as less for being a social (or military in this example) rank lower.

I can assure you, I know and have known legit upper class people who curse and drink like sailors. I myself also have a far better grasp of ethics, grammar, language, and even math than some of those rich people I know.

I'm poverty in one of the wealthiest counties in the country. Want to know why poverty dwells among wealth?

I used to have a touch of class.

Wealth is the predominant indicator of class but that is not the full picture. Look closer to see what comprises and divides class. It is not wealth.

As for those you know, they are two faced and put their best foot and face forward (performance) when and where they need to.

Its not your fault for being in poverty if you have a potty mouth. My sister, she has an income that luts her in the 10% earners range. Shes broke not because of class or her mouth but because shes a fool with her money she lives in a camper. Very often where there is poverty there is untreated mental illness, serious problems with drug abuse and violence (often gang related), and lack of opportunities to do better. Dont condemn yourself over it. Ive done social work and had a habit of listening to the most inappropriate music possible while I was doing notes or going to a clients house.

During the first part of my life (youth until early adulthood) I did not swear or call people names. I would caution people against vulgarity and profanity but (gotmyasskicked) for it.

When in labor delivering my first born child I cried out "goodness gracious" and was ridiculed for it.

I spoke perfect proper English and was viciously despised for it.

It was all beaten out of me.

Poverty of wealth is different from poverty of spirit and poverty of knowledge (I'm referring to moral knowledge, not forbidden knowledge).

Anyway, sorry to hear your sister is screwy. I hope she's able to figure out her malfunction and correct it.

If the entire world stood around with the attitude of letting someone else do it, it may be a sort of classless society, but it would also be stagnant. I would support the immediate removal of any authority figure who approves the use of torture, let alone allowing one of their own to be tortured just to make a point. (I support heirarchy as a pragmatic sollution, but I tend to be opposed to "authority.")
