No place in this world for religious fanaticism

Today I woke up and went to Facebook and saw a great video of a Ukrainian girl playing violin and dancing. I thought that if I was a religious fanatic, I would be told that such joys are pornography and ungodly and so I thought to share and post it here because I enjoyed it so much I wanted others to enjoy it too. God help Ukraine!

I think religion is not meant to stop our enjoyment and fun in life just keep us away from things which are harmful. When I go to the different religions YouTube channel I find only religious songs. I understand that but to my way of perceiving life I find that strange because diversity and variety are a part of life. We should appreciate our uniqueness not interpret everything in life in a ‘narrow-minded’ context. Does religion express diversity?

There are morals and some restrictions for our protection, but religion I believe, should set us free not place us in a strait jacket. My belief is we should be happy, enjoy life, wear the best clothes, have a good mobile and computer but also help the poor and the environment and make peace.

In my religion, we are born in an age where superstition and fanaticism has ruled for centuries and evolving into the scientific age, materialistic age is a test but moderation is taught by Baha’u’llah. He even said we could eat from golden plates :

“Whoso wisheth to make use of vessels of silver and gold is at liberty to do so."
(Bahá'u'lláh, Kitáb-i-Aqdas, par. 46)

And this:

Should a man wish to adorn himself with the ornaments of the earth, to wear its apparels, or partake of the benefits it can bestow, no harm can befall him, if he alloweth nothing whatever to intervene between him and God, for God hath ordained every good thing, whether created in the heavens or in the earth, for such of His servants as truly believe in Him. Eat ye, O people, of the good things which God hath allowed you, and deprive not yourselves from His wondrous bounties.

I believe that there should be a balance between material and spiritual civilisation. Either extreme is harmful. What do you think?

Ah! It is a free world. But is it not quite foolish? What benefit one gets from this?
In some parts of India it is a portion of freshly washed banana leaf.
That presumes existence of a God.
Why did God allow eating of somethings and not others? I do not know if eating pork is permissible with Bahais or not?

Oh! Then you have a God different from that of Jews and Muslims. And it is not the God of Abraham. Did Abraham eat pork?

Not a different God but different laws for different times and peoples. Pork can be stored safely in modern times with refrigeration, but in desert environments without proper storage facilities it can be a threat to the health.

God of Abraham, also of Jews and Muslims never gave the option. With them, it is haram.

As s child we had s close family friend who was Jewish. His belief was that pork should be eaten is because it tasted so much like human flesh.

...

It depends on what religion. If Bible is the rule book of Christians, then basically all comes to that people should love other and treat them as they want to be treated. And essentially it means people should not do anything evil to others, even if doing evil can cause enjoyment for some. So, Christianity is in a way against diversity, it wants all people to be righteous and not evil.
