No to Fake Meat

No is forcing us today but I'm not interested in just today. California has already moved to ban ICE vehicles. They can control how much and when you drive. Lab meat. They can decide when and how much "meat" you eat. This will all be forced on us under the guise of being good for us and the "environment". Being nice to people by using their preferred pronouns will advance your social score making you eligible for more "meat" and electricity.
Where did you come up with all this and what is it based on?

I mean, you just provided an example of a right-winger banning a product in his state so that nobody has any choice whatsoever. Nobody can have it. But somehow you've used that as a jumping off point to make all these absurd claims about meat allowances or something and blame "leftists" for them? Can you explain how that makes sense?

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
No one is forcing you, though the odds are rather high that it may be the "meat" of the future. There may come a day when killing animals for meat is made illegal.
Killing a single animal will only feed so many people. Cultured meat? One animal can feed unlimited people at a cost of a fraction of farmland required to feed the animal itself.

A win win.

Only issue is how to sell the meat on the cheap like it used to be.

There lies the (meat) rub.

I expect that, for a long while after it hits the shelves, it's going to be significantly more expensive for consumers than farm-grown meat, and with governments reluctant to subsidise it's production (due to the sheer size of the farming sector and its lobbyists) that's not going to change. We have to hope the technology reaches a point to where its production is cheap and efficient enough to match the current price-point of farm-grown meat, and without popular political support it's got an uphill battle.

I didnt provide any examples of anything unless you can point to where I did.

We are going to start slow. First let me ask, why do we need meat grown in a lab if we have cows?

Um, you did. Do you not remember Post #19?

No, I'm not going to pretend I'm not the one following along here and I'm not going to allow you to go off on a tangent.

Then they're going to force us all to eat with a spork. Instead of jobs we'll gather round in big circles and shout at the clouds to check their privelege. Cycling shorts will be worn on our heads at all times. All children will be named Rapunzel. Anyone caught with an uneven number of hairs on their toes will be thrown into a live volcano. Social media will be on potato.

It was a statement not an example.

So when you wrote"

"But somehow you've used that as a jumping off point to make all these absurd claims about meat allowances or something and blame "leftists" for them? Can you explain how that makes sense?" you didn't really want an explanation about how that makes sense. Got it. I will ask.abain though

Maybe you'll express some integrity, why do we need lab grown meat if we have cows?

So your statement had nothing to do with the accompanying video with Ron DeSantis banning lab grown meat in Florida? You just posted that for no apparent reason?

I guess it was just an amazing coincidence that his actions perfectly aligned with the statement you were trying to make about Democrats. How ironic!

"its funny how leftists act when they dont get their way."

Looks like "leftists" should be corrected to "right wingers in Florida." Oopsy.

The problem is govt can make things like EVs "catch on". California has already banned ICEs after 2035 in think it is. And why? For the same reason govt always claims to do everything, the "common" good. The "experts" know what's good for us.
Weird how you have nothing to say about Ron DeSantis deciding things for everyone.

I have plenty to say about it I just haven't said it to you.

Now, why do we need lab grown meat if we have cows. Why do we need "plant based" meat if we have cows? Why do we need "vegan" cheese if we have cows?

Seems obviously protectionism for the cattle industry.
I can understand I guess the desire to protect a part of the economy.
However seems to me like trying to protect the horse and buggy industry from the automobile.

How many will be able to afford lab grown meats?

"A 2021 analysis estimated that lab-grown meat will cost US$17 to $23 per pound to produce, and that does not include grocery store markups. In comparison, conventionally grown ground beef typically costs a little under $5 per pound"

I really doubt that's going to become a reality. It will probably be thrown out or reversed. We'll see. I'm hopeful. They're going to make the power grid collapse with that nonsense if they go through with it, anyway. Lol

Because this is the govt controlling how much and when you eat meat. We'll hear about how cows are bad for the environment, and how bad red meat is for your cholesterol. The "experts" will tell us how this helps save the planet and how lab grown meat has had all the "bad stuff" engineered out of it. Eventually you will get a higher "social score"by eating lab grown meat which will allow a bigger electricity ration so you can actually charge and drive the only kind of vehicle they let you drive, which BTW is also better for "the environment".

"California has already banned ICEs after 2035"

There is a catch to that...

ICE's won't be banned after 2035.
The sale of new ICE's will be banned after 2035.

"executive order requiring sales of all new passenger vehicles to be zero-emission by 2035"

Maybe. I'm not sure how old you are but I'll say I never imagined there would be a point in the future when there would be confusion about what is a man and what is a woman.
