No to Fake Meat

Because this is the govt controlling how much and when you eat meat. We'll hear about how cows are bad for the environment, and how bad red meat is for your cholesterol. The "experts" will tell us how this helps save the planet and how lab grown meat has had all the "bad stuff" engineered out of it. Eventually you will get a higher "social score"by eating lab grown meat which will allow a bigger electricity ration so you can actually charge and drive the only kind of vehicle they let you drive, which BTW is also better for "the environment".
Meat is a money market. Cattle ranchers, etc have the market.
To be part of that market you have to make something new.

"California has already banned ICEs after 2035"

There is a catch to that...

ICE's won't be banned after 2035.
The sale of new ICE's will be banned after 2035.

"executive order requiring sales of all new passenger vehicles to be zero-emission by 2035"

That's what I meant but thanks for the clarification. The point is they are yapping about de santis "limiting choices" while gruesome newsome is telling people they won't be able to buy an ICE after 2035. I guess having a D after your name makes it ok to do.

Lab grown meat?
Yes IMO

Oil companies have the market for ICE's.. Car market

To get in on that market you have to create something new.

EV's and lab grown meats are more expensive to buy.

If its all about saving earth, make them more affordable to everyone.

Now would I like to see less pollution? Yes

But I won't change where I get my meat.

EVs are hardly new and they still rely on fossil fuels for electricity. Oil will be in the hands of very few people who will live far better lives than the rest of us.

Plant based meat is an oxymoron.

Why not just call it plant burgers, plant sausage, etc.
I agree, and indeed the products are not marketed as such unless it's to avoid confusion and help with identification. (At least not here in the UK). It's a relatively new market (as a mass appeal choice) so I think the naming is in its infancy. Plus the meat and dairy has tried to stifle the competition sometimes (eg by laying claim to the word milk).

I was just not bothering to say...

just one reason:

"Half of the world’s habitable land is used for agriculture

More than three-quarters of global agricultural land is used for livestock, despite meat and dairy making up a much smaller share of the world's protein and calories."

- Half of the world’s habitable land is used for agriculture
Thank you for answering. Then reduce agricultural land use to that share. Nothing you said explains why meant has to be made in a lab.

Why should I, you wouldn't see it even if I pointed it out.

But the novel sounds interesting. No lie.
So you can't tell me where I'm wrong. What you did was a variation of the, "If I have to explain it to you you wouldn't understand" silliness. It just means you can't explain it.

My own religion
I didnt provide any examples of anything unless you can point to where I did.

We are going to start slow. First let me ask, why do we need meat grown in a lab if we have cows?

Let the market figure that out. Or are you a communist and want the government to decide that?
