No weapons allowed in to my home.

In my home, I have a rule that no weapons are allowed, and this has not been a problem for police or military personnel. The few times the police have visited my home, they left their weapon in the police car when i told them that I do not accept weapons in my home.

The military(only one-time visited) left one guy downstairs with the weapons when two guys followed med up to my home.

Why do some people get shocked when they hear this kind of thing?

Here in Canuckistan, that's the norm. My house also has no meat, no tobacco, and no booze rules.

Well im 63 and I have never seen this rule, never had anyone bring a weapon into my home before, never heard it discussed before.

As a fellow Buddhist I am really surprised you ain't got better things to do.

Why did you have police and military in your home?
Police was looking for someone, and sometimes they do have checks of homes. I did not do anything wrong :)
Military because i live very close to a military base, and they were having a military exercise here.

But because i am a pacifist i do not allow weapons in my home

There is no official rule in Norway about it, but i dont accept weapons in my home. And i dont see a problem with discussing this kind of topics too

I don't see a problem either. I'm just saying if you told a cop "no weapons" in the US, you might be in risk of them searching your home for illegal activity out of suspicion. But I'm not a lawyer who knows the laws and workarounds, I'm just saying.

Well I am sure it is not a common experience for Norwegian cops too.

Hmm. I presume you limit this prohibition to only certain types of weapons because the typical household contains countless objects - your own body included - that could be used to inflict harm and pain. What is it about the specific types of weapons you prohibit that is especially bothersome? Is it that they were designed with doing harm in mind? Something else?

Do the police do checks of homes even when they are not specifically looking for someone or something?

Suddenly I wish I lived in Norway! Our local cops won't so much as take their shoes off to raid a mosque/temple, they certainly wouldn't consent to disarm.
