I have read about Noahidism, and the laws.

My question, do you believe there was an actual person Noah?
And therefore an ark and flood?

Just curious.

While you are here Rival, can you tell me what there is about being a Noahide that fulfills your spiritual need?

Were you always of this persuasion or have you shifted from a different religious perspective?

Is there a reason why you did not convert to Judaism? I noticed that your avatar is an Orthodox Jew, so it made me curious....?

I take the account literally, and so did the apostle Peter and Jesus. I do not know exactly what is meant by Noahide, however, I am a Bible fundamentalist in some sense, though I form my own opinions about what is written.

The law is referring to the practice of cutting off the limb of a living animal then binding it so the animal didn't have to be killed and spoil, so you could eat, say, another leg. That is not allowed. The animal has to be killed by you before you eat it. What this verse is saying is that there are no dietary laws such as kashrut for Noahides.

I have never heard of such a vile practice. Where do they practice this kind of wickedness?

It used to be widely practised all over the ancient world to keep meat fresh. G-d put a stop to that. It also refers to the practice of eating any kind of live animal, as common in Asian cuisine.

Even the Japanese eat a certain kind of fish while still alive. I have never tried and never shall; however, dismembering an animal and eating this part while the animal still lives for next time, is revolting.

I am not a Noahide but for me Genesis and Noah has given me these laws

1/We should be fruitful to self and others. We should encourage fruitfulness in self and others. Being fruitful to self means adopting the mental and physical condition of looking after oneself, guarding and evaluating one's thoughts and outwardly being amenable and personable.. being fruitful to others means helping and encouraging others, doing all what one can to make the lot of others more bearable, helping them to thrive; family, friends, communities.

2/ We should not believe in divine punishment in this life, i.e. removal of fear

3/ We should treat all others as equals as God blessed all people equally in the Blessing.

4/ we should discard religious custom and tradition and encourage others to do the same.

5/ We have freewill

6/ We should multiply

7/ We should avoid eating live animals

8/ we should not have fear nor guilt,
