So non-Americans: what would you be?

A laid back Californian beach type? A busy working New Yorker who hurriedly walks everywhere? A proper Southern belle? A Texas cowboy? One of those weird people from Maine? :p

I thought all the weird people came from Michigan. But there's also Florida, too. Florida is in a category by itself.

Oh, and Chicagoan might be a choice, where people can sit in a bar with other Chicago fans and root for "da Bears" or "da Bulls." They used to call it "the city that works," but I'm not sure if they still call it that.

I'm American and still trying to figure it out. I was born south of the Mason-Dixon Line, grew up in the Mid-West, live in and fit in in California (except for being part vampire), but sound like I'm from a combination of Canada and Texas. I lost the Hoosier work ethic though, and fortunately because life to me is more than working and dying, and I've grown to like taking breaks and always rushing to do more work.
And then I've walked both sides when it comes to religious nutter to being against about everything they are for. I suspect 99.999% of RFers outside of America will fall onto one of these catagories, lmao.
Amd then the ultimate "what kind of American are you?" is are of those odd ball minorities who gets enough exercise and/or could stand a decent chance at passing a geography test, lmao.

Probably i would be the sort to settle in another country and visit family back on the US every Thanksgiving.

Or one of those off grid types

I would spread the model we have here and how successful it is.

Well, then get over here, leave, and when I leave we'll share a common story of fleeing the insanity of America.

I'd be one who owns property and such in the USA, lives off the proceeds of this, and hence can afford to live some place I'd prefer to live.

I don’t know enough about the US to understand what types there are. But I felt most at home in Boston, when we visited for a do my wife attended at MIT (She did a post-grad there.) So maybe a Bostonian.

Definitely NOT Texan: we lived for 2 years in Houston and it was like living on Mars. San Francisco was nice, though.

I guess it’s not for everybody. I found Houston to be an amazing place to live, but it might depend on what you do with your life while you are there and how well you can connect with people.
