Young women who want to get breast reduction or removal have usually not developed breast cancer. It is healthy tissue that is being removed. They are doing it because they want breast tissue removed. The side benefit is that it greatly reduces the chances of developing breast cancer in the future.
What are you considering as young?

I've known some middle aged(50+) that have gotten reductions due to back problems and such.

Really? How many under 18 year old girls are just getting their boobs taken off/reduced and for what?

So I googled it. Most all young women that get breast reduction surgery is because of back/neck problems, constant rashes between breasts, bra pain, etc.

Did you lose track of the coversation?

the post the above was in reply to was in reply to:

NOWHERE in you above post is pregnancy mentioned.
So it appears you either lost track of the conversation, which happens, or you are moving the goal posts.
If you believe a biological female can be a man, then you believe a man can get pregnant; right?

So then the actual "problem" is nothing more than you refusing to accept the fact that the word gender is no longer solely a synonym for sex...
Let me put it this way; for ME and people who think like me, it is still synonym for sex; for YOU and people who think like you; it is not. I'm saying for you and people like you, gender has become a meaningless description for a person

So, should young women with or without gender dysphoria have to jump through extra hoops to have breast reductions or mastectomies, given the health benefits of it? Simple question.

Several different situations. There are any number of cosmetic surgeries, and those could fall on a spectrum. Then reduction surgeries for health purposes. Then mastectomies for physical health reasons.

But that's different than mastectomies for mental health reasons. It seems to me that before a person gets a surgery for a mental health reason there ought to be high quality evidence that such a surgery will improve the person's mental health.

Any breast reduction or mastectomy will have a net health benefit, so why try to stop them?
Personally, I have more qualms with hormone treatment then with breast reduction surgery or mastectomies.

In which context? For mental health?

My mother had a reduction at 16 because she was getting hit on by 30 years old men. And to prevent future back injury.

So the entirety of the modern medical field?

You feel like you (and people who think like you) are more right, then the entirety of modern medicine?

Am I understanding this?
When you divorce gender from biology (which is what you are doing) gender no longer has anything to do with the medical field.
