Non-Binary

It can be a nonbinary expression. Tomboys are generally socially acceptable for women, so she may or may not identify as nonbinary.
Can you name an expression that is NOT socially acceptable in todays society? Because I'm pretty much convinced if it isn't illegal, pretty much all expressions are socially acceptable

As I understand it, a binary person identifies as exclusively male or exclusively female, whereas a non-binary person identifies as neither or both.
Binary means 2. If you are only one of multiple options, how is that binary?

By acknowledging that one is one of two.
But wouldn't that mean you believe gender to binary rather than you as a person? If I am only 1 of multiple, even if that multiple is 2, shouldn't I as a person be considered singular?

The I-Word is socially unacceptable in any civilized society, because no human being is illegal.

Nonbinary means that one does not identify exclusively as one of the two societally recognized genders.

I'm sorry, but they did not consult me when deciding what such a person should be labeled.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I don't personally care what any consenting adult does or doesn't do. As for kids, I would hope that the parents knew and supported whatever the kid wanted. Mine are all grown and all are identifying with their born sex so there's that aspect. Same with all my grandkids. But like being the parent of a gay person, who might never have kids, I can understand the grief but also the love for that child. I want my kids and grandkids to be happy and fulfilled. Period.

Ask yourself: who gets razzed by their peers for not conforming or fitting in?

I stayed at home and my wife made the money. This does not confirm to social norms, and breaks all of the gender expression rules.
Perhaps 100 years ago, but in today's society; I don't think that is any longer the case.

The configuration of the family and the sexual division of history has a long and complicated history here in America, going back to the time of the conquista, some five centuries ago.

Yeah; there was a lot of stuff that went on in ancient history that no longer apples today.
