I think, similar to what Jesus said, that very spiritual people aren't really "of the world". I'll explain my personal experience...

Praying to the Hindu gods and focusing on religion, it tends to get me in a meditative state, which is profound enough to cause me to focus my time exploring and strengthening it should I pursue it and wish to strengthen the connection. This will seem to confuse the majority of people should I choose to talk about it. Atheists, some agnostics, and even some religious people as I feel some religions overall are becoming very focused on worldly things rather than meditative spiritual states.

Prayer and meditation is quite time consuming and takes time and energy away from me doing more hands on things, like college classes, playing video games, going shopping, etc - subjects which I do feel that the common man relates to more, if you talk about it with them.

Do prayer and meditation enough and it all becomes a choice - do you go by the books and do what is expected for a given situation, or do you start to sense a sort of spiritual guidance over time and trust it? All I know is that with the uncertainty of life, there's really no telling the outcome ahead of time, of a decision.

The only true spiritual book or exercise is the Bible.

I neither do any prayer nor meditation. In any situation, one can't go back to books. You have read some books, you have your education and bringing up. You have to take the decision based on that, your mind tells you what you should do. Outcome, as Krishna said, depends on many variables, that is not in our hands:
"Karmani eva adhikarah te, ma phaleshu kadachana.." BhagawadGita 2.47

It’s not wanting the fruits of action for yourself that is the error, it’s the idea of ‘yourself’.

I do not get your meaning clearly. Any action that we perform is for some purpose. If the purpose is in line with 'Dharma', that is OK (upkeep of family, something to benefit the society, in defense of the country). Hinduism is not against earning. 'Artha' (money) is one of the four things that a person should aspire for (Purusharthas - money, sex, dharma, and moksha, salvation in Abrahamic parlance). It is with money that one can do what is one's dharma. We cannot sustain our family without money. Although the result of our actions are never definite. I may start a business enterprise but may suffer a loss (Covid-19, nobody knew it was coming).

I meant that people often want the fruits of action to benefit an illusion - their false sense of self. Such as when the ambition is to create an empire with the purpose of glorifying their identity and fame. As opposed to wanting the money.

That is true, Howard. We would not take with us even a cent of what we have collected, be it a 100 dollars or a 100 billion. Even the name is forgotten, remembered only occasionally by one's own family. Gandhi used to say that the rich are the custodians of money for the poor. The best use of money is to be given in service to the poor people. It is good that many rich people realize this.

I’m happy to inform you that you are entirely wrong.

Every one that believe that there is Spirit, they must believe in the Bible. Why? Because the Bible is the oldest book in history. And the Bible is the first book that already has speak about other life in other dimensions.
There are two kind of Spirit that came down here. God angels, and satan demons who cannot go anymore in heaven.

I simply don’t believe any of that.
Nor do I see any need to believe any of that, or any value in believing it.

There is no way that any of those claims can be supported.
You don’t know that the Bible is the oldest book in history.

Using the contents of the bible as proof of the contents of the bible is a circular argument, and therefore invalid.

Hey, you’re’ member #66668 ! Freaky ! LOL

Not me, so your contention falls flat.
Bible is not the oldest book in history. RigVeda is at least 6,000 years old. RigVeda does not talk about reincarnation. It believed in Viking sort of afterlife in Valhalla (Pitriyana - the land of ancestors).
Pipiripi, it seems you know only about Christianity to some extent and you are not aware of other religious beliefs in the world - of which there are hundreds. Read something else also to broaden your view. If you had a genuine interest in reading, you would have already read many more things.
