I was watching the TV news program 60 minute and they did an interesting tour of the essentially completed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, that had been nearly destroyed by fire. It cost about $750 million and was completed in five years. The video below is from CNN. The link to the 60 Minutes video did not work.
The cathedral was not only restored, but everything, including all the artwork, and stain glass was clean to its original beauty, which had not been done since the 1800's. It is even brighter and better than it was before the fire, all with added fire prevention and protection. Donations came from around the world to help offset the cost.
The second video is computer generated time lapse of the original construction and the restoration.
