The link says "This program is exclusively open to registered voters in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and North Carolina. Expires October 21." So it has expired.Elon Musk is offering Pennsylvanians money to sign a petition and for referrals! Unfortunately, I'm not a Pennsylvanian.
Here's the proof: https://petition.theamericapac.org/
It's to support the 1st and 2nd Amendments; personally I think it ought to be to support the entire Bill of Rights, the rest of the amendments, and the entire US Constitution in general.
For those who don't know what the 1st and 2nd Amendments are, they protect freedom from religion (that's what the 1st of 6 clauses in the 1st Amendment does), freedom of religion (2nd clause), freedom of speech (3rd clause), freedom of the press (4th clause), the right to peaceably assemble (5th clause), petition the government", and the right to keep and bear arms (2nd Amendment).
These rights as well as many rights in the other 8 Amendments of the Bill of Rights, the rest of the amendments, and the entire US Constitution in general.
Only if he's endorsing a specific candidate. As far as I know , he's just trying to get people to register through incentive. So he's literally buying political support?

"Going in?" I think we've been there for some time. This exactly the wrong direction we need to be going in: billionaires buying people's political support.

No more or less illegal than trying to bribe college loan forgiveness for prospective voters.Even if there was some illegality, the government is not going to come after people for signing a petition because a billionaire troll promised them $100 for doing so. But it was not illegal anyway.
