The more I go through the threads (and I go through a lot)....I see more and more of the same patterns that make me think that people really are not taking the time to read exactly what the topic of the thread is, or just do not keep on that subject. Also, there are people who talk about the same thing in every single thread they go to, and try to push the thread toward that. Also, I see people being lazy and just saying "I agree with so and so", but don't put anything to support it.....none of their personal input at all.

The idea behind this forum is for us to share ideas, to listen to one another, and to offer our input. I want to know what everyone thinks. No one is going to be able to respond to every thread, they shouldn't even try. As a service to others, I think people should only respond to threads if they have something to add ( I will try to follow this myself as well).

It may be because some people like to stick to their own opinions, and will debate them as best they can huajiro :)

Right Soultype, but if I am a die-hard vegetarian and someone like Painted Wolf has a post about Bison being moved because they are diseased......and there is an advertisement for Bison burgers there.....I don't go talking about it in her thread (I didn't by the way). There are some people who would have gone in there to discuss mating habits of chimpanzees.....we need to stay on the subjects.

hi Huajiro,

I guess I might be a bit guilty of that; I have a great problem with concentration, and reading can be too much of an effort sometimes.

I try to read the thread right through before replying to the original 'Threader', but I must admit that when some of the 'interim' responses are very long, I 'skim' through the long ones, picking up, I hope. the Salient points.

Have pity on my damaged brain!!!!

I gotta agree with you...I read the topic starter and continue to read each post there after and it's easy to get into a whole different topic when someone during their posts lead the topic in another direction. It's sometimes much as playing the gossip game...lol, sorry huajiro...I'm not making light of your point just kida seeing what you are talking about. I guess we all need to try to stay on topic and if we have another point to make perhaps we should start a new thread...good point buddy.:)

Blind Freddy could see it was a joke, huajiro...which is why I thought it bizarre that you'd taken it seriously. Should have stuck with your 'lol'.

It does illustrate the point though - perhaps many people are saying "I agree with [insert name]", because they want to show their support for that person's argument/position/point/colour of socks, and don't feel the need to elaborate on it. You were quite happy to accept HelpMe's support of the point(s) you were trying to make, yet would seek to deny others the same. Can we say double standards, anyone? :bonk:

Not a double standard....just trying to get along. That is probably what happens in the majority of the threads. I am just getting so frigging confused trying to keep track of everything.
