Odd Happenings

Before I disappear for the morning, it's being Christmas reminded me of the Hallellujah Chorus (I never have understood why that is associated with Christmas, not Easter). Well, that reminded me of this odd happening while I was in the university.

Given my major, minor, and preferences for the optional classes (I can't remember the word now), I wrote many papers each semester. My roomate (of several years) noticed this first. Everytimes I would finish a paper, my computer would select the "Hallellujah Chorus" to play. I always kept it on random, and always typed my paper at the last minute. I had two or three gigabytes of songs (not all MP3s are illegal, like those at ocremix.org). Still, when I was touching up the bibliography that would always play, and it would do so without my intervention.

I'm sure people on this board have similar experiences.

My wife and I are scheduled to celebrate a grandchild's Bar Mitzva in Israel next year. Since we'll already be half way around the world, we've been talking about extending the trip to include one other location. The current active options are Amsterdam and Istanbul.

We were actively discussing these options as we came home from work a few days ago.
  • On the front door of our condominium was a note informing all that Anne Frank, an elderly resident of a joint building, had died.
  • That evening, we were watching the PBS News Hour. It ended with a retrospective on the post 9/11 spirit of New York with extensive references to "New Amsterdam".
  • My wife and I chuckled at the coincident, checked the TV Guide, and noticed that "The Diary of Anne Frank" was scheduled for that evening.
Perhaps Istanbul will have to wait. ;)

Maybe a hacker liked that song:biglaugh:

But seriously the same thing happened to me, only with the song Cherry PIe. Actually the song reminds me of someone here..

I have noticed that everytime I turn off the computer, that my wife and kids start to talk to me. Coincidence, you might think? :D

No. It's proof of ESP. They're controlling your mind to force you off and begin speaking once their job is done.
