Odd Things You Enjoy

Title says it all, I'm going to list my examples.

1) As I was saying to a member on this forum, I enjoy it when it gets really dark and the bright light from outside illuminates my living room, hitting the blinds at this angle, it gives the atmosphere of my apartment this calming sensation, like I'm protected.

2) When I forget to get my cappuccino from my Kuerig machine. I'll accidentally let it sit for hours and when I get back to seeing it I get this cool beverage. It's even better if it has dust on the top rim. In fact, I enjoy room temperature stale water this way too.

3) Going through an artists' or band's discography and creating a Greatest Hits album. I won't even make a playlist with all my favorite songs (I sometimes prefer deep cuts), I make a playlist that is always under 80 minutes in length with all of their most popular work. I'll sometimes even go so far as to release it for YouTube, complete with custom album art, even if I never attend to put it on a compact disc.

4) Taking walks until I get blisters on my feet. And even still, going further than that. Even when I have free public transportation available. You don't get to know an area until you've walked along its sidewalks.

5) ASMR. If you don't know what it is, YouTube it. :D

Posting on RF. Most people in RL (at least, the few that know about this) think that makes me borderline certifiable...lol

I really like optimizing what I carry in my truck & how it's organized.
Most people IRL find this really odd.

My friends & I like to get together & do the money chant, which also involves slapping each other in the face with stacks of bills.

Sitting in the yard in the dark after the mosquitoes stop and just trying to make out shadows.

Break a pattern I have, like I go to work same way same time every day. Take a round about way. Wear a suit somewhere I wouldn't. I love breaking patterns I always imagine all the ways that I changed my life.

Sit in a tree and just watch. Now that I'm older I don't do this as much but every now and then and much lower in the tree.

I enjoy gardening, fishing, hunting, posting here, SHOOTING my firearms, cooking.
Especially cooking things I catch on fishing and hunting trips.
Right now I'm running low on firearms. Down to 26 or so.
I NEED another 1911, probably another Kimber (.45 a.c.p.) but they are really expensive
at around $1200.00 a copy.
Don't need anymore assault rifles, 4 are enough, but would love another if I could
find a Russian built A.K. 47.
It's time to till the gardens ( I have 2 of 'em ) and get cold hardy plants in.

You know, despite the fact that I'm a very, very bizarre person I can't actually think of much of any "odd" little things i enjoy. AMSR maybe. Maybe finding really niche things too but that's more my picky aesthetics (and partly what lead me to do my own music, no one does the ultra specific kind I wanted to listen to!)

But I guess the latter isn't so odd so much as my constant need for novelty but I think that's just associated with higher IQ's I get bored easily.

I guess I like staying up for really long until I feel like I'm going to pass out and try to sit up and listen to music and go in and out of consciousness. Sometimes i can use this to help with meditation oddly enough and having the music as the center focal piece.

I like to pull and play with my lip ring, and it's even better when it hurts a little bit for some reason.

That's about all I really got without going into my magical/mystical practices lol

I enjoy eating leftovers, though that may have something to do with the cook.
Also, I enjoy learning the basics of various languages when I see them, regardless of my lack of talent for them.

Many would consider my tastes in music odd, especially with the heavier and harder stuff, and I often get some form of "how can you like band x and Slipknot?" But, to me, it's normal.
Some people consider my taste in movies and anime to be too violent and too graphic at times. But I love it.
I got the impression going to Uni that the Ann Rice Vampire Chronicles are a weird thing to enjoy, which kind of surprised me because I'm typically around people who enjoy them, but people there didn't seem to care for them much.
One odd thing I do enjoy that I can think of though is the Drowning Pool album Sinner, because pretty much every song on that album, except for one, sounds the same, is timed the same, and are all pretty close in length. Normally I would dismiss it as rubbish that's only played in C tuning to artificially make it sound heavy, but it's an album I enjoy, really because I love Dave Williams' voice.
