old horror movies much better

I think the reason why some old horror movies like the exorcist are so good is because it's been kept simple
there are no unnecessary special effects, no lame camera tricks at trying to scare the audience by suddenly producing a frightening image or sound, no attempt to make everything look too artistic

I guess. Although a lot of them old horror movies had their cheesy moments. Especially Friday the 13th... But I do agree though. These new horror movies are pretty lame. I am not too big of a horror fan.

Modern horror movies aren't generally better than the oldies. But when I think of the best, the oldies cannot touch the likes of Alien or Silence of The Lambs. These days, we're more tolerant of horror, so the game must be ramped up, which puts the oldies at a story telling disadvantage.
