Old, I know, but I HATE Palin!

Just read that Palin accepted Letterman's apology "on behalf of all young women." What gives her the right to make such an acceptance?

That's just what happens when the media points their microphones at morons.

Squeeze a lemon and you get lemon juice.

Morons are entertaining because they say stupid things. Rewarding them with political office is not the way to celebrate their stupidity.

Agreed.

Now that we have an apology and acceptance, I hope she can return to the frozen tundra, never to be heard from again.

Done here.
John Edwards took a shot at Dick Cheney once making mention that is daughter was a Lesbian.
I wouldn't call that a "shot." There's nothing even remotely wrong with being a lesbian. (A Republican lesbian like Aunt Mary is another thing, but I wouldn't expect that to embarrass Cheney.)

Anyone who can get a rise out of Liberals must be a good candidate for the right. Sarah Palin excites the right and could get many people into the voting booths. I believe she will be the first woman President.

I would absolutely love to hear all of you cry about her for eight years.

moronic conservatives scare liberals. the fact that the right prefers idiots to be their candidates has long been proven. who else is the base going to vote for? they dont vote for people who are "different" and since the base are idiots, they will only vote for an idiot.

and what is the base again? christian fundamentalists. gun nuts. racists. xenophobes. homophobes. radical nationalists. warmongers. am i leaving anyone out?

of course liberal is a term without any real meaning other than "not conservative".

:biglaugh:

The good news about Palin - for Democrats, at least - is that her popularity (if indeed it is real) is proof that the Republicans are not taking the candidacy seriously. The tragic thing is that as an American, I want the Republicans to produce someone who is a serious candidate. It's offensive to me that they don't take a serious office seriously.

If the Republicans can't produce anything other than Palin / Chuckles, they are handing the Democrats the Presidency again.

im pretty sure you fit somewhere on that list. i dont know you that well, so i wont assume which category you fall under.

I might disagree with Rick about most issues, but I can't dismiss him as merely spouting off the ideologies of any of the groups that you have mentioned, and I certainly don't think you should if you don't know him.

When Chuckles becomes part of the Republican presidential platform, I will finally have proof that American politics is actually a circus. There would be a monkey to perform stunts, the Republican party full of stubborn elephants, and the Democrats can field up toothless lions that make lots of noise but are really unable of doing anything.

Now, if I could make that analogy work for Australian politics...

It just may be possible that a moron of Palin / Chuckles level are the only people the Republicans can find who actually believe their platform (if belief can be an appropriate word for it) and run for office.

And that is pretty sad for the Republicans.

Who can resist one creature that performs stunts, and the good-looking Chuckles?

Well, the Democrats can have their nutless monkeys, too... just don't put them in charge of anything.

Campaigning 101.

Who is Chuckles?

Chuckles is the nutless monkey that the Republican machine uses to propagandize their agenda.

He has a two-sided chalkboard on which can be written two word slogans.

"Abortion bad"

"Bailout good" (during the Bush administration, September 2008)

"Bail-out bad" (during Obama administration, Janurary 2009)

"Love Jesus"

Democrats can use him, too.

He's a nutless monkey, he doesn't care.

The difference is the Dems have the presence of mind not to actually put him in charge of anything.
