Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's take on healthcare reform a socialist threat? It doesn't really matter.

The news is flooded with stories about topics like healthcare, the minimum wage, rising housing costs, and any number of economically-related issues. Taking healthcare as an example, the debates focus on all sorts of distracting issues and almost never focus on the most critical issue. Healthcare costs are high primarily because oligarchs are massively profiting at every turn in the system. The Dems and the GOP don't talk about this. By their consistent omission of this fact, it's clear that they are in the pockets of the oligarchs. Their debates amount to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Until we remove oligarchy from our system, most of our other debates are pointless, and most of what's "in the news" is a dangerous distraction.

Don't forget, oligarchy is the direct enemy of democracy. Oligarchy could well be the most pressing issue of our time. Global warming is a huge issue, but the oligarchs are tampering with our ability to address it. Nuclear weapons are a huge issue, again, thank the oligarchs for keeping them in place.

It's hard to think of an important world problem that's not exacerbated by oligarchs.

The problem isn't being rich. Most of us are rich compared to the rest of humanity. The problem is that we can never get enough. We never see ourselves as having enough so that we are willing to share the rest with those who don't have enough.

The problem is greed, not wealth. And we are all guilty of it to a far greater extent than we realize.
