Oliver Stone.

So, I've been watching some Oliver Stone films...

Actually just "W" and "Wall Street" and they were both very great.

"Natural Born Killers" is a work of genius, IMO.

Anyone else a fan?

I've only seen Platoon, Wall Street, The Doors and Born on the Fourth of July. The Doors was okay but I really liked the other three. I think Platoon is a better movie than Apocalypse Now.

I've seen bits of JFK and Any Given Sunday but I couldn't get into either.

I have seen Platoon, Wall Street, Born on the Fourth of July, Natural Born Killers, (awesome movie) and JFK.

I believe Stone to be a fine movie maker and story teller, but as a historian the man sucks rope.

JFK was very entertaining, but historically was as far out there as it gets. I despise it when people actually quote this movie instead of doing their own research on this assasination.

If you have ever seen Stone interviewed, it seems he is also as out there as it gets.

Very entertaining movie maker, but as far as historical fact and his personal opinions, Stone is one strange ranger.....

Excellent story-teller and director. I don't necessarily agree with all his views, or his interpretation of history, but I generally watch movies to be entertained, not to be enlightened or educated.

stone's films are too long imo....

I like them, but they are far too long, and I dont mind long films...

I watched Shoah once...9 hours split into 2 4.5 hr sittings....

but in the sea of dross that is hollywood, overall stone is actually one fo the better film makers considering....

now, what about a david lynch thread? lol...he's way "weird"....
