On Earth as it is in Heaven

Matthew 6
9 Therefore after this manner shall ye pray, saying,
10 Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
11 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is done in heaven.
12 Give us this day, our daily bread.
13 And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
14 And suffer us not to be led into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
15 For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

16 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, who trespass against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly Father forgive you your trespasses.
17 Moreover, when ye fast, be not as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance; for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily, I say unto you, they have their reward.
18 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head and wash thy face, that thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasure upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye; if therefore thine eye be single to the glory of God, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light which is in thee be darkness, how great shall that darkness be.
24 No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon.
25 And, again I say unto you, go ye into the world, and care not for the world; for the world will hate you, and will persecute you, and will turn you out of their synagogues.
26 Nevertheless, ye shall go forth from house to house, teaching the people; and I will go before you.
27 And your heavenly Father will provide for you, whatsoever things ye need for food, what ye shall eat; and for raiment, what ye shall wear or put on.
28 Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for you life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your bodies, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
29 Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? How much more will he not feed you?
30 Wherefore take no thought for these things, but keep my commandments wherewith I have commanded you.
31 For which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature.
32 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin.
33 And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon, in all his glory, was not arrayed like one of these.
34 Therefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he not provide for you, if ye are not of little faith.
35 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
36 Why is it that ye murmur among yourselves, saying, We cannot obey thy word because ye have not all these things, and seek to excuse yourselves, saying that, After all these things do the Gentiles seek.
37 Behold, I say unto you, that your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
38 Wherefore, seek not the things of this world but seek ye first to build up the kingdom of God, and to establish his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
39 Take, therefore, no thought for the morrow; for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day shall be the evil thereof.

I forgot to add that this is the Joseph Smith Inspired version of this chapter.

It's more for myself I guess than anyone else, a bookmarked scripture for reference later.

This is a religious EDUCATION site isn't it ??? Does it really matter what I say or think anyway ??

Let scriptures do the talking on this one.

Are you asking what it means or why is it here? Apart from a scripture to bookmark.

Because I know what it all means.

It doesnt mean we are going to heaven, because as I have said before all the scriptures from this testament are written for the 144000 who are going to heaven. We other sheep or "great crowd" can use it as a basis of our faith to o our best but the heavenly hope does not apply to us for a start.

Secondly On earth and it is done in heaven, well that means that after Jesus removes satan (revelation 12) the angels are rejoicing because god's Will is then done in heaven, but we still have to wait on the earth so that is what that applies to.

Store your treasures in heaven applies to worshipping Jehovah only and doing what he requires of us.

See it tells us that Solomon was not arrayed as one of these. He was not ot become a part of the 14400. So then Jesus keeps telling us to seek the kingdom first.

So how cna you seek the kingdom first if you do not know what it is>

I think it's the most significant scripture in the New Testament. It's a basic outline for life and how we should be living it.
It doesnt mean we are going to heaven
Right, this earth will become heaven sooner or later and we will live with Jesus on this earth, much sooner than we think.

Secondly On earth and it is done in heaven, well that means that after Jesus removes satan (revelation 12) the angels are rejoicing because god's Will is then done in heaven, but we still have to wait on the earth so that is what that applies to.
Yes, satan will be bound for 1000 years while we live on earth in peace with Jesus Christ.

Store your treasures in heaven applies to worshipping Jehovah only and doing what he requires of us.
Yes and amen.

See it tells us that Solomon was not arrayed as one of these. He was not ot become a part of the 14400. So then Jesus keeps telling us to seek the kingdom first.
Yes, we seek the kingdom first by keeping all the commandments, THEN ALL THINGS will be ADDED UNTO US, the RICHES OF HEAVEN will be added now and in the eternities to come.

So how cna you seek the kingdom first if you do not know what it is
The kingdom is doing good to and for others, being righteous, etc., it's as simple as that. We should be spreading joy, peace, love, righteousness. We should be listening to righteous/good music, movies and reading good books, listening to and scriptures, etc.

The Lord will take care of us if we live righteously.

Thats the point of the whole bible.
Actually one of my favs for living life is:
Luke 10:27
In answer he said: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole strength and with your whole mind,’ and, ‘your neighbor as yourself

Right, this earth will become heaven sooner or later and we will live with Jesus on this earth, much sooner than we think.
The earth will be paradise we dont go to heaven and heaven doesnt come to us. Heaven is Jehovas dwelling plaace and the earth was created to be ours. THats the way it is and will always be

Yes, satan will be bound for 1000 years while we live on earth in peace with Jesus Christ.
Yes then Satan will be let loose for a little while and then destroyed for good, then we live forever on a paradise

Yes, we seek the kingdom first by keeping all the commandments, THEN ALL THINGS will be ADDED UNTO US, the RICHES OF HEAVEN will be added now and in the eternities to come.
Eternities? THere is only one eternity. and what to you are the 'riches of heaven"

The kingdom is doing good to and for others, being righteous, etc., it's as simple as that. We should be spreading joy, peace, love, righteousness. We should be listening to righteous/good music, movies and reading good books, listening to and scriptures, etc.

The Lord will take care of us if we live righteously.
You also have to preach the word of God fully. That is part of it. You also need to find full and accurate knowledge of the truth.

Jehovah will guide us through life. if we do what we want, through scriptures and with other people in our lives. Wem ust truly show him we love him first.

Rev. 7:4[/U] is the only place in the entire Bible which should not be interpreted as a listing of literal tribes?

There is no such justification, yet I suppose...you must continue teaching the Bible this way or else come to the conclusion you are wrong on other points. What a confusing belief!

Hi FFH, are you aware that there always has been some questions concerning the validity of Jesus saying the words of Matthew 6:12? This is based on the fact that it does not appear in the earliest version of the Lord's Prayer Luke 11:2-4. Luke's gospel predates the other Gospels and it is from this which Matthew borrowed heavily in his Gospel. Therefore there is opinion that the words of Matthew 6:12 implying Earth will become Heavenly is a forgery by the anti-Christ forces to obfuscate the essential need for mortal souls to aspire to a 'Spiritual' Heaven and being born again of the spirit, in the spirit in order to attain Salvation.

Jesus makes this clear when he says that the Kingdom of Heaven is not of this earth, and again to the Samaritan woman that God is spirit and that it is in spirit that ultimately God is worshiped, not as a ritual on the mountains or Jerusalem Temples.

Luke 11:2-4
He said to them, "When you pray, say:
'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation.' "

Since your ‘so-called’ anointed class did not exist until Jesus came…are you saying none of the Old Testament prophets or patriarchs will be in heaven with Christ?

Are you saying they will instead exist forever on earth in paradise with the rest of the ones not in the 144,000? That’s crazy. To believe that means that Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Samuel, Solomon, etc…all the way to John the Immerser will not be in heaven.
Nowhere in the entire Bible is a tribe of Israel anything but a literal tribe composed of literal people. What is the justification for you to teach that Rev. 7:4 is the only place in the entire Bible which should not be interpreted as a listing of literal tribes?

I cant believe you would ad Adam to a list of FAITHFUL men.

Jesus himself said that John the baptist would not recieve this reward because it is a NEW COVENANT to be instigated upon the Death of Christ. Jesus was the Firstfruit of this new Covenant.

Matthew 10:10-11
This is he concerning whom it is written, ‘Look! I myself am sending forth my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way ahead of you!’ Truly I say to YOU people, Among those born of women there has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.

See john the baptist was to tell everyone that christ was coming, but he is not in the Kingdom, of heaven in the sense that he will not be ruling in it as a king or priest.

The resurrection goes on for quite a while into the 1000 years of Christs rule. He wont be resurrected until well into that time. Not everyone is resurrected on the same day. Jehovah and Jesus might be miracle workers but they cant raise 6 billion people in a 24hr period of time! so they have 1000 years to do it.

The ones that are of the anointed class are in heaven immediately after Armageddon. Jesus was the start of the resurrection to heaven, so anyone who dies before him, dont recieve that, only those who died after;

There is no such justification, yet I suppose...you must continue teaching the Bible this way or else come to the conclusion you are wrong on other points. What a confusing belief!

It really isnt too hard to believe. Once you have ALL the facts.

What did Jesus say to Nicodemus in John 3:13 "Moreover, no man has ascended into heaven but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man"

And what did Peter say about King David?
Acts 2:29-35 “Men, brothers, it is allowable to speak with freeness of speech to YOU concerning the family head David, that he both deceased and was buried and his tomb is among us to this day. ...34 Actually David did not ascend to the heavens, but he himself says, ‘Jehovah said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, 35 until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.”

And what did Jesus say about John the Baptist?
Mt 11:10-13 “Among those born of women there has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is"

Ask yourself this, if John is the greatest of all those born on earth, then how is it that a lesser person in the heavenly kingdom is greater then him? The only reason is because a lesser person in the heavenly kingdom is in the glorious nature of God in his spiritual form whereas an earthly person is in the lesser physical form. John died on earth and will live again on earth when he is resurrected...he did not go to heaven.

The prophets and patriarchs will be resurrected to life on earth in the same way and they will live as subjects of the kingdom they prophesied about.

Nowhere in the entire Bible is a tribe of Israel anything but a literal tribe composed of literal people. What is the justification for you to teach that Rev. 7:4 is the only place in the entire Bible which should not be interpreted as a listing of literal tribes?

Because the list does not contain all of the tribes of Isreal. Compare the lists found Revelation 7:4-8 & Numbers 1:17, 47 and you'll see there is a difference which is why it is not the literal 12 tribes of Israel.
And besides that Revelation 5:9-10 tells us that those with Christ come from all tribes & nations of the earth...not just the jews
9 ...and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”
